WTF
Kill it with Fire!
That is cool in the way something really weird can attract attention.
Brown, square, family sedans that are heavily modified dont do it for me. Those wheels are especially hideous.
This makes me wonder if people in Japan are checking out 1980s 4 door malibus or Pontiacs and going ZOOOMOMGBBQ!!! that car is awesome.
Sorry, rant over. I usually agree 100% with your taste in vehicle. Not this time.

That car is really secksy!! I am a sucker for brown cars anyway, but then again I am weird. I like the Works wheels better, but see the last sentence.

It'd come with these wheels, and this thing is pretty darn stock. Just suspension for the most part.

I like the Sapporo tap handle sword as a shift knob.

Yeahh.... i'm torn on that. On one hand, it seems to fit the car very well for some strange reason, but on the other hand, i bet it's annoying as hell.

Yeah because every time you shift you're going to think...
"Where the F is my beer?"

Few things can make me question the fundamental mechanical quality and care taken in modification and maintenance like cutesy or over-the-top accessories.
Um, yes, you need to do this trade. That car is pure JDM sexy, especially with the Hoshino Impuls or Works or whatever. DO IT! Oh, and get rid of the beer handle and put a regular shift knob on please.
eh...I think the Mark is a goo dlooking car from the exterior, but RHD just never meant "OMFGMUSTHAVE" for me. But, if it makes you happy, I say do it (Coming from someone who just had a similar situation with the car they wanted, but wasnt sure if SWMBO would drink the kool aid).
I still say do it, because who the hell sees a Mark in their garage every day? Wouldnt it be nice if you did?
...plus, then add short shifter, because stupid shifter is stupid

The KoolAid isn't RHD... it's that this car was NOT sold in the US. There's likely less than 5 of these in the states.
Yes, it's pretty much a Cressida, but there's quite a bit difference cosmetically, as well as the fact that it's a factory twin turbo 5spd car.

I.... actually hate short shifters. I'd just put a stock knob back on it.

I can't see the pictures but you should do it.
One way to look at it is that you're likely to save the car from the dorifto yo! crowd.
I think that is pretty cool, and I am about as far from the "JDM Yo" crowd as you can possibly get. Definitely need to lose the beertap shifter as already mentioned.
If the wife feels like you are taking away "her" car, take some of the $6k and get her a nice stock NA as a replacement.

No way. Your car is worth more than $3k more than that Toyota.

I think the figure is $6k btw
Granted, IDK if I'd think thats worth 7k though.....
BTW, is there an office pool going yet for how long before we hear ben say "This engine sucks, should I F2T it?"

As Paul said, current scenario is $6k and the car for my car.
Annnnddddd... SWMBO just violently veto'd this one.
Guess I won't have $6k to put a new motor in her Escort. Too bad.
I like the MR2. Is the color original? My uneducated opinion says that they will hold value in the future; perhaps in the same way that the first M3s hold value. Along with the FD RX-7, the MR2 is one of the few cars from that era that doesn't look dated. To my eyes, the MR2's aesthetics are unusually dependent upon the wheels chosen. I love them with mesh wheels or chunky 5-spokes that look like they belong on a Ferrari.
The brown car... I see it fading out of style very quickly

I got the itch for an alltrac too, but every time I look under the hood of one it just looks like a cluster-berkley, and a nice one is so hard to find that I'd feel bad getting it salty, making the awd part kind of a waste unless I make it reallllly powerful........The sw20 is pretty as hell to my eye, the 3sgte is a great motor with tons of potential, the e153 is a tough tranny, my 2 cents, get an mr2, then gut it, give it big boost, be happy. (But you knew I'd say that).
