Yeah pass on that brown thing I am guessing the bottom of the car is all hella stanced/scraped to hell. Go with the MR2 it is a turbo one right? If so strong motors and super strong trans
The only current trade offer is the Mark 2, the MR2 was months ago.
It's also not that low... i'm pretty sure my daily driver sits lower than that, and it's fine.
The MR2 was a much worse trade idea than the Mark 2, to be quite honest. Yeah, maybe it's a better sports car, might be worth more down the road (but i HIGHLY doubt it), but the Mark 2 is worth more NOW.
why havent you traded yet?

I got the itch for an alltrac too, but every time I look under the hood of one it just looks like a cluster-berkley, and a nice one is so hard to find that I'd feel bad getting it salty, making the awd part kind of a waste unless I make it reallllly powerful........The sw20 is pretty as hell to my eye, the 3sgte is a great motor with tons of potential, the e153 is a tough tranny, my 2 cents, get an mr2, then gut it, give it big boost, be happy. (But you knew I'd say that).
I'd take an AllTrac over an MR2 any day of the week. Because fanboi.
MR2 has been off the table for months.
I'm a little sad. I like the Mark 2 a HUGE amount, and i can't have it while simultaneously keeping the peace. Le sigh.

SWMBO was quite forceful in her condemnation of the idea. I'm really not happy about it, but life goes on.

Brown, square, family sedans that are heavily modified dont do it for me.
That is literally my entire thing. I even want to repaint a couple of my family sedans DIFFERENT shades of brown.
Also, i saw turbo 626 Coupe on the road yesterday and i was excited! /randominfoonlyrelevanttoben
Ask yourself: how many of those are left in that condition? On this continent?

Probably 5 including Canada, especially since it was never sold in the US.
As a side note: I look at your avatar and think, "Woman! Why you no let me buy?!?"

I wasn't saying necessarily that mr2, maybe sell the msm outright and do both an alltrac and a mr2. That just sounds right dont it?

If there are only 5 in the country how are you determining the cars value? It's not a super car it like an old IS300 or something, how big is the demand? My NX2000 in uncommon but the are barely worth scrap value. I guess the whole dorifuto thing is going to up the value some, but what if it gets in a fender bender? Where is the new fender coming from? Some cars are just better owned by other people if you ask me.
It would be fun for a while to have people fawning all over at car meets though. If that's your goal then go for it.

I won't have money, patience, or desire to do both of those cars. It'd be an Alltrac. I can live without the sw20.
In reply to jere:
I'm not determining value. I just know that i would have been ok with it plus $6k for the MSM. Asking price on the Toyota is $13.5k for whatever that's worth.

When I had my 77 celica liftback, I dreaded driving it because all I could think of was that some retard would smash in to me and a: I wouldn't be able to source parts for it and b: insurance wouldn't compensate me fairly. A: happened, it was a nightmare and that was a fender, a corner marker, and a headlight bucket . Made me re-evaluate the whole project, but now that it's gone, I badly want another.

Honestly, that's part of my "meh" feelings with the MSM. It's too damn nice. I don't like nice things.
I see MSM's in the wholesale lot at my work all the time. I have NEVER seen a MK 2. I know the answer on here is always Miata, but a Miata doesn't hold a candle to the 'Yota. Even if the Miata is factory turbo. Get this car!!!

He's got an F2T MX6, and F2T Miata, and a KLZE Escort, along with the MSM and she's stuck in an XJ Jeep. I don't think it's unreasonable that she can keep the MSM as her sports car so Ben can drive his Twilight Zone collection.

Correction:
The Escort is HERS.
The MSM is "ours," though i've funded every last penny of it. (Same as the Escort, actually.)
Only the MX6 and the 93 Miata roller are truly "mine." The fact that the MSM is kindof "ours" is why i didn't bother arguing. Not worth it.
But don't make it sound like she's a martyr in this. She gets to drive the nice cars. I drive the salvage title MX6 almost exclusively. Besides trips, i drive the MSM maybe twice a year, and i really only drive the Jeep if we're going out to dinner or i'm hauling parts that won't fit in my gutted MX6.
She gets the nice cars, i get the crap.

Your choice man. Don't act like you couldn't afford a nice car or two if you sold all the rolling scrapheaps you own!
(<<< Realizes he could have a much nicer, newer car if he sold the rusty old POS AMC)

yes... and the Mark II is nice. 1GG head is very similar to a 4AG head... so I'm sure some magic can be breathed into it...
BUT..... big problem with the Mark II is parts..... just as an example.... I'm having a more difficult time finding parts for my Corolla in the internet age, then I had when I did the Cobra Jet Mach 1 back in the early 1990s... I waited 2 years to find a pair of door panels, and I'm still waiting to find a set of tail lights!!

So what if you went and made the trade anyway? How much of a beating would you take from the wife? Might still be worth it.
Well... she DOES only weigh about 110lbs...

Plus, if she comes at you...just hide behind that big ass cat of yours.
Never met her, so...more than enough reason to blame the woman.
I think it's fair enough to let her keep the MSM since there are quite a few toys in your squadron already. Hmmm...there's got to be a way to work this out though...
