I need to re-grease my polyurethane control arm bushings. Unfortunately, they lack "Zerk" grease fittings. So, that means I have to take them off to reapply the grease.
...Unless there is a aerosol type of grease that is acceptable for use on Polyurethane bushings. Something like WD-40 but lithium based?
What say you, GRM hive mind?
Maybe this?

IIRC, the stuff they use is really sticky and thick, not something to spray on.
Yeah, I know. I've got Energy Suspension's prelube to put on. (It's supposed to be pretty good.) I was just hoping that there was a solution that didn't require my removing the control arms.
I don't know of any. Install some zerks when you pull them out this time. (Not that i'm 100% sold on the effectiveness of those because of WHERE they place the grease.)
The grease really needs to go on the "faces" of the bushings, whereas the Zerk fittings seem to apply it around the outside of the bushing.

I had the same question until I spoke to the Redline rep when I ordered my Sporty oils, and the lubes for my vehicle's trans and rear ends and transfer cases(all same gear lube or Trans fluids). When the package arrived, there was a nice little addition and some swag. A red Redline Oil Racing hat, and a small tub of CD2 lithium moly grease!

I use Silicone Plumbers Grease. You do have to take the bushing out to grease it but the waterproof grease seems to last longer than anything else I have tried. Plus I can find it at any HD/Lowes cheaply.
I use the included grease on the bushing outer diameter for assembly, but anti-seize between the bushing and inner sleeve.
I have heard some people say to use Teflon tape on swaybar bushings, I have tried it before and it seemed to work fine.
The outer part of the bushing is supposed to be 'gripped' by the tube it's installed in, the bushing rotates around the inner sleeve. I don't lube the outside but definitely lube the inside and the 'faces'. I use dielectric silicone grease.
If you are going to use zerks, the position is important. They need to be positioned so that the grease is forced between the bushing and the inner sleeve. That's pretty easy with the two piece 'tee' bushings, but not so easy on the one piece ones.

I like the thick, gooey green lube that came in a little film-canister type container with a sway bar kit. Unfortunately, I ran out awhile ago and haven't been able to find a source for it.
Powerflex LCA bushings for the MINI came with little tubes of what looked like copper anti-sieze, which confused me to some extent since I understand that stuff really isn't a lubricant and under a microscope is closer to grinding paste.
The Energy Suspension Formula 5 prelube worked quite well. It's also very sticky and waterproof.
Ian F, I'll bet that was Marine Bearing Grease. I'm a fan of silicone greases, though.
