Proof that, sometimes, we do know what we’re talking about when it comes to days gone by: A good friend recently shared some footage from an Atlanta Region SCCA autocross from July 1993.
Is that our editor in the dark grey Nissan Sentra SE-R? Yes, yes it is.

And the SE-R was fun: A008s, SuperTrapp and some homemade numbers.
What I wouldn't give for a clean '91 SE-R...

Somewhere I have the paperwork that says what I paid for a mint '92.
It's amazing how many of those people I can name just from their car
Just realized that this video predates me.

I know, right? And several cars that have been in the mag. Who can ID some?

84 CP in the Trans Am seems kind of Mark Madarash-ish but this is probably the wrong region.
You know what I've never seen at an autocross before this? A Sunbird. Granted I didn't start until 2007.

That was the old Lakewood Amphitheater lot, right?
My very first autocross was the very last autocross they ever did at Lakewood.

That's the late Rich Shafer, founder of Cool Shirt.

Yup, that's Lakewood. Good times there. Good lot, too. I was living in metro Atlanta so not too far, too.
And I still remember this course. After lapping the skidpad, you kinda ran along the lot's spine before dropping into the site's lower section.
Some other gems in this video: a ride-along (with a spin) with me plus some old-school GRM T-shirt action.
