I could be wrong and I bet there is someone who might set the record straigh, but this is what I was told years ago about Auto Insurance in Canada.

If your insurance company catches you in a lie when you submit a claim, your end of the claim can be denied and your policy will be shut down. Chances are that the fib will go on some data-base and make other insurance hard to get also. However, their liability if you are at fault, can't be reneged on.

So, if third party liability is all that you really need to be covered for, lie your brains out, tell them it is a concourse Miata and figure on fixing your E36 M3 out of pocket if anything happens.

You live in the bay area and have a mountain house? Your filthy rich.

My insurance company knows exactly what the Targa Miata is and what it does. If Hagerty won't take an Exocet (and yes, it is intended for low use, special cars instead of daily drivers) then try some of the other specialists. I will, as always, suggest calling an independent broker as they know a lot more about this than any of us...other than those of us who are independent brokers

Nah, I just had a prescient great-grandfather. Hagerty has a pretty stellar reputation. I don't mean to rip on them. They might even offer alternative policies for those of us who are more "active" with our cars. I'm merely relating my experience.

FWIW - Haggerty would not cover my Exocet.

Going back a page, I finally have AS1 safety glass (the only windshield material that the DOT approves for the street) and windshield mounts for the Sport and Race chassis. It took a while to get the shape for the frame extrusion right, and the extrusion die tooled, and the forming equipment to bend an asymmetrical cross section into a symmetrical curve, but it's done and shipping, for those of you who are having registration hassles.

Will the Exocet be at January 2018 Caffeine and Octane?
