I'm not sure I would have been able to contain myself either. There is a very good chance I would have done more than just scream..... I might have offered to light the Explorer on fire

OK, I had a lady do that exact same move into the side of my FRS, and I assure you the damage was a lot worse. WAS there damage? All I saw was the expeditions bumper pushed in.

A customer did some vigorous testing at Buttonwillow this weekend, which included FTD against a claimed bunch of competent time attack cars:

Keith, are these going to be needed/useful with vmaxx?

I'm trying to convince Exomotive to supply me with a set so I can say for sure.

They look pretty damn good. And as someone who has the new bodywork on, and the vmaxx coils to the highest position, I feel that these would be very useful. I still sit very low, and my a-arm angles are a little alarming. I am interested to get Keith's outlook once we gets a set in-house.

We had a good discussion a while back about 0-offset wheel options. I ended up ordering a set of Traklite Holeshots in 15x8. Black Friday deal, not from Exomotive. Traklite web site says: 15×8- 12.8 LBS I weighed one of my 4 wheels on 2 different scales: 14.4lb. I'm... somewhat disappointed.

We have a couple of sets of the adapters on the way. Our car does have a lot of trouble putting down the power on tight right hand corners due to the unloaded inside rear wheel, we'll see if they address that. Interestingly, I've seen the same behavior in a Miata with very long travel suspension. In both cases, it wasn't/isn't an issue on a full size track, just on our little kart track.

Make sense. Generally you're going faster on larger tracks so the turns aren't as sharp. Road course guys may not need these spacers but maybe auto x guys (like me) will find them beneficial.

There's a race frame for sale in IL on miata.net - would be an opportunity for somebody to cut the queue. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=562718

I'd love to seem more Exocets in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois so I have some buddies autocrossing and at the track.

The best email you can get from Exomotive:

Kit will be here Monday and I plan on picking it up on Tuesday!

Are they shipping with bodywork right away, or is that still forthcoming BTD ?? Also, what frame number are you? I am 110 and am trying to gage timing.

Per Kevin, bodywork is coming separately. Last I heard they had started getting into a flow with Downing Atlanta, so that should be moving along.

I'm chassis #91

Upon speaking to Kevin on Wednesday chassis #96 was on the first welding table.

Finally got somewhere with removing the body from my donor. Excited to hear that #96 is on the table. (I am #111) I tell you it would have been nice to have another person there to help balance the body during removal. Luckily I was able to snag a grill brush off of the grill which allowed me to reach a wiffle ball bat on the table which fixed my balance issue.

Umm, or move the hook two links on the chain?

Nice job single handed though. Were you able to find a buyer for the tub? Looks fairly rust free.

I only mounted it to the tub at 2 points so it still wants to lean. I questioned how to get 3 points but got impatient. Tub is rust and dent free as far as I know. I am in Charlotte NC if anyone wants it you can come and take it. I was planning on calling local scrap to see if they will come get it and not have it cost me anything.

I seriously want the tub. Any ideas on how to get it shipped to the border? I could collect it from there. Funny how to you its garbage, but to me its worth about $1000 sitting in Port Huron. Maybe chop the windshield off and toss it on a pallet?

Just weighed one of mine. 14 lbs 4.2 oz. They must weigh them bare and add a pound and a half of paint on them before shipping. :)
