Maybe their production specs are 13 lbs +/- 1.5 lbs. Or something.
"Do not stack"
Kit was fine though, despite UPS and their asshattery.
Dropped off at the fab shop to get the tunnel notched. I had the kit in hand for a total of two hours:
I love the cardboard they put over the hole they made. Reminds me of the movie Big Daddy where they put newspaper over spills and messes.
Wow, just worked my way through all 85 pages. Big thumbs up to Warren and exomotive, and Keith and everyone else that's dropped the science. My wallet-finger is getting itchy.
Has anyone done much looking into hpde-ability of the sport vs the race? What I mean is are tracks/NASA/clubs/trackday companies generally requiring the race version, or is the sport version's roll hoop enough to get you on track? I do understand that it's impossible to get a definitive answer to this question, but people's experiences/info would be helpful. My own research thus far seems to point in the direction of the sport version being acceptable for hpde.
I'd prefer a sport due to aesthetics/drag, but not if I can't get it on track.
Another question: just how much does this suck in the rain? I don't have much open car experience, but I'm guessing it's pretty well untenable? Or perhaps a shorty windscreen and keeping your right foot down make it livable. (again, for track use, not sitting at a red light in a downpour).
All right, one more - perhaps Warren's still answering questions - any chance of getting the trans tunnel modded for better seat options from the factory?

Haha! Yeah it's like, "quick do something so the owner doesn't notice!"

Is reading really that difficult for those monkeys? I will definitely take the time off work if needed to go pick mine up in Atlanta when I get to that point. Not worth the hassle of paying brainless idiots to damage your property like that.

I can't wait to be able to answer that question.
"Say what???" indeed ... Warren, not to put you on the spot, but would this possibly be available to incorporate into a chassis #110 if the "tunnel notch / increase seat options" mod is something that works for me and I want to pursue?
Another general question ... has anyone found a decent place to be able to view RAL color samples? Every web site that has RAL color charts posted warns you not to view them as being accurate due to color variations on computer monitors, etc., etc. Thoughts / suggestions short of buying a color chart online?

This will be a fantastic option to have available! At least doing it local means I KNOW it'll fit the seat I want.

They sent me a sample color book which was awesome. Call them and they'll send it out with a return envelope. No charge.

All open cars require a rollbar (section 11.4.7). I would suggest definitely getting the track version and not the base just for higher rollbar protection. So long as your head is below a broomstick from top of rollbar to the end of the passenger area you are ok. I'd not expect a failure of this method unless you are 7' or taller. The cage will pass all other measures (360 penetration or mandrel bend rules). You'll need padding for head contact area and I'd suggest 5 point harness (get FIA as it is good for 5 years versus 2 years SFI and thread the belts as per 15.5 section), arm restraints (required as open top) and seat back brace (15.6.21).
Windshields can be added as that is in the plans according to posts here. It will just be the issue of rain when you are stopped.
There's also a FB owners that you can post items for sale / needed / pics / etc.

By "track" version, I assume you mean sport, yes? The rest of the points you make seem to indicate that the full cage in the race version isn't necessary.

Poor Warren, every time he opens his mouth about an idea we take it as gospel...
As for the RAL color numbers, Prismatic Powders will send you a color chip to match your selection if you request it. I also ordered 2 pounds of extra powder in my frame color for detail items that can be matched locally.

Yes - track = sport (the base may still pass as well but I'd suggest getting the sport as the main hoop is much better braced (and if you want to fully cage your Exocet later you can do it much easier). Full cage is not necessary for HPDE or Time Trials (it's only required for racing). Arm restraints are required regardless of which one you buy.

I have not heard about carbon bodywork; last I heard Kevin and Downing were just trying to get caught up on orders.
As I am fairly new to track time, can anyone clue me in to what I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't go with the Race version? I currently have the Sport on order but it's certainly early enough to alter that.
