Its nice but not low volume high cost nice :)

Any ideas on the half upper side panels like xxxocet has?

We can supply more. They are less than $2400 I'd have to confirm pricing, but I'd say closer to $100/set in volume quantities. You'd either have to weld brackets on the frame or use p clamps. Contact me if you're interested and I'll move forward with pricing.

With all the talk about about the fuel tanks is there a fuel cell option that works well on the Exocet? I saw the drawings that Warren posted with the dimensions. I guess it's just a matter of finding the right side from a manufacturer?

Keith you should offer them, you'd sell a bundle.

I'd be interested in pricing as well, Exomotive said the color is 2074 grey if anyone wants to make their own.

I know a handful of folks on the MEV board have been talking about them, as well. A basic kit with P clamps would be great

I've been following this thread since the beginning and it's soooo tempting. Really impressed by the response Exomotive has had to the issues they've faced and by the solutions they've come up with to continually improve this thing.

Anybody want to buy a great condition E36 M3? ;)

The way that motor seems to free rev, the only hint that it's connected to the rear wheels is the fact that the car is moving.

Speedblind this guy is wanting to trade nice Miata for M3. Might make your build too expensive, but cash on his end & a Miata gets you going.

A while back, when Keith was talking about cramming an LSA into an Exocet, I called him a mad scientist. I promised him a custom-embroidered lab coat if he and his team pulled it off.

The Exocets dominated the skidpad challenge today. Two of them (the XXXocet and the FM II-powered XP4 from Exomotive) tied to win the Unlimited class at 1.449g. The other one that entered (the LS376/525 powered XP5) won the street tire class at 1.375g.

Well done!

Awesome. Congrats to you guys on the great results. What tires,spring/damper/swaybars did the V8 vs turbo cars use? What was the street tire to race tire cutoff ?

The supercharged V8 XXXocet was on AFCOs with a 550 front and a (mumble mumble) rear spring. I wish I could remember the rear, I think it's 400 or so. The ride quality is actually really, really plush, partly due to a fairly soft rebound setting and the chassis rigidity. FM V8 front sway bar, no rear bar. It was on 235/50-15 R888s that were probably running about 27 psi at Atlanta altitude - we hadn't checked then since the car came off the trailer from Colorado. If it sounds like the owner just jumped in the car and took off to give it a try, you're right :)

The FM II was also on AFCOs, with a 550/375 setup iirc. FM bars front and rear, I don't know what tires, but I'm going to guess Nitto NT01.

I think the street tire cutoff was 200. If memory serves, XP5 was on Rivals. Not sure what suspension but Warren will know more.

Does anyone else consider it bonkers that the two V8 Exocets are sport chassis', not race?

The XXXocet is a race chassis without the cage - the owners have the rest of the cage parts if they decide to go that way. However, it's going to be used primarily as a touring car (!!!) and the driver isn't as flexible as he used to be. The cage made ingress too difficult.

Yeah the cage makes getting in and out quite a chore. I wish the state didn't require a windshield for mine.... It's just another thing in the way.

Does the windshield really get in the way of ingess/egress? From the profile shots it appears to be behind the wheel.

I know originally the thought seemed to be that 500/300+ was an excessive rate for the exo but I'm seeing more and more High 500/high 300 or 400ish spring rates being used. Has the thought process changed on that? My build date is rapidly approaching. Excited
