GRM road support network... TX to FL in a V8 Maxima

I convinced a friend of mine (Rob who some of you may have met at the challenge) to buy the 5.0 Maxima recently listed on the board...

Its paid for and dropped of at his sister's house in San Antonio. We are flying out Friday and hoping to making it back to the Daytona area Sunday.

Good news is it seems to have made the hour drive from the sellers home to his sisters house. It was reportedly a DD for three years and has working AC. Seller also said he would drive it to FL.

Bad news is that the battery is dead, it won't have a tag and is of course unknown to us. Also given the hurricane claims coming in I can't really afford days off if we get stranded.

I figure if Toyman can drive a 50s bus on a fly and drive then this should be no problem but just in case is there anyone along the way that may be willing to lend a hand if needed?

I'm on the north side of Houston. I'll be in Austin most of the day Friday so I might not be much help, but you can have full access to the Grosh, all the tools and a place to sleep Friday evening and as long as you need it. Send me a PM.

We'll be staying in San Antonio Friday night at his sister's I believe. Most likely will throw in a battery and grab some tools for the trip and head out Saturday morning.

Awesome. I'll either be home or within 20 minutes of it all day Saturday. If things go pear shaped by Houston you're going to have a bad weekend, but I'm here.

I'm out of town this weekend, so I can't help you in the Gainesville area. Mr. Joshua might be around though.

It's certainly possibly. I already got my monthly fill of pushing the challenge car around when we killed the battery.

Thanks guys! I'll try to update the thread or start a new one detailing the adventure.

A couple years ago we picked up a turbo RX7 in NC but had a chase vehicle. It made the trip fine so hopefully this will go as smoothly.
