The cobbler's children are always the last to get shoes scenario, eh?

Do I get bonus points for hard mode since I don't have anything resembling a model car at home?

We watched the Tram driving championship. I wish I had thought to record some of our bus roadeos now that there's a captive audience.

I'm trying to remember if I ever built a model within a week. Maybe when I was younger and not so fussy. Nowadays I'm lucky to finish ones that I started years ago.
On the JG MST3K concept, lots of potential co-host are stuck inside, depending on their contracts/non competes etc. It'd be fun to get the likes of Tommy Kendall and others doing co commentary. If you were to manage to get xhibit to do an episode of Overhaulin with JG, I'd probably soil my pants from laughter.
Would now be a potential time to pull the quotes for and start formatting a "Say What?!" book? The time is available, but the finish date and consumption wouldn't be until this is hopefully past us or winding down and physical publishing and distribution will likely become more difficult than digital in the coming weeks and months
I don't have any ideas for you guys but just keep doing what you have been doing. I think of this place as a "shelter from the storm", which is kind of scary considering some of the stuff we talk about.
I really appreciate the constituents here seem to be reasonable level headed people (most of them anyway) and always willing to help out those they have never even met.
World leaders should really consider consulting GRM forum for guidance, or at least stress relief.

Maybe there are multiple classes: Kit based, 3D Printed, RC car, and FOB(Found Objects Build).
edit: one class a week, that way you can do multiple and it'll spread it out.

Tim,
Thanks for your post reaching out to everyone. I just want to say how impressed I am with the job you and your family and staff do. The magazines are outstanding, the events are special, and this forum is the best. You have done a great job of connecting with your community. GRM readers/posters provide thoughtful, intelligent commentary on a wide range of topics, not the least of which is the current virus emergency. Information here is often better than anything out there from other sources. And, yeah, people can have some fun, too.
Keep up the great work!
Enjoy the drive,
Danny

I was thinking about this more, and it could be fun if JG did it riffing with whomever actually did the video. Imagine how much fun a Binky eposide version would be with JG and one of those guys? JG and whomever at GRM could start it off with doing their own version like that. Did you guys ever do a bloopers reel, either?
Thanks for keeping the lights on, y'all. Automotive news is kinda slow right now, but the banter about old cars and projects and so on is always entertaining.
Hey Tim and the whole Staff,
The forum is part of my daily routine. More so now that I am not spending time commuting.
We are furiously building the next Challenge car(s) and the normal commute time is now shop time. Hope others are able to get some extra garage time in.
I would love to see some 'Spotlight on Our Readers' type news. I am always amazed with who is in the circle and what people I know of but don't know are doing.
Hope we see you in May.
Andrew

A family friend brought this over for my 8yr old yesterday. He's super excited to start building it.
Been on the forum for 10 years or so, could not imagine life without this place. Thank you everyone at GRM for fostering this great community.

Yeah I know I was here for years before the changeover, which now shows May 2008.
I have learned an incredible amount of stuff from this place. Met a few in real life, etc. It's the best forum car guys available.
I have been stuck at home four days and you guys (this community) are the only thing keeping me sane. Or at least what normally passes for sane around Haus Knurled. We're flexible.

My girlfriend and I have been working from home since the 12th and it looks like we will be through the end of next month.

I'm single and my cars live in another county, it's just me and the Internet here.
At least I don't feel bad that I'll never have enough money to retire. I wouldn't be able to mentally handle it.

Could you or someone else post pictures and whatever info there is on the page? All I get is a login screen.
nderwater, actually Berkeley yes! We did a Suzuki powered Berkeley about a decade ago. bad, bad idea! it was so evil, instead od selling it, scared of the liability, I gave it to a friend (you probably don't want to be friends with me) as I trusted he could sort it out and not kill himself with it. The last I heard he gave up and it went to the guy who runs Southern Driver, in a trade for some Triumphs.
I ended up getting a couple of those Triumphs, one a friend is now restoring (a TR3) and one (a Spitfire) I sold to Bob Tullius' son. True story, I not Bob Tullius of Group 44 fame, got his son and grandson restoring Triumphs.
And speaking of friends, Danny Shields has been a friend of the GRM family since day 1. Thanks for your support and kind words.
You'll need to log in to post.
