Very cool except for one thing.

That truck is the worst sounding vehicle I have ever heard.

I'm about to crack a cold one and watch Gym10. Going in stoked!

This one didn't do much for me. Don't know why. I think part of it was just I felt like I spent the whole video waiting for the Hoonitruck to show up. Definitely coulda done without the whole part where they were running the Cosworth without tires as well.

I liked it.  Thought it was neat that I've been to all of the US locations completely by accident, driving Fords every time no less cheeky

Maybe for the next one they'll have a roll call for Ford rally vehicles, I should go practice...

I have a VQ. I've heard them with exhaust. This was worse. Much, much worse. Maybe it was all the time spent bouncing off the rev limiter.

The talent, effort, and money required to make this video is enormous.  Watching bits of the Amazon series gave me respect for the fact that multiple takes (and the tell-tale tire marks they leave) are often not because of a driving error, but because a helicopter wasn't timed right or it was decided to add difficulty to the stunt.

I do wish that they would have added some coherence to the video, though.  I think it would have been neat if they would have had some device (driving onto a plane, blasting down an open highway, getting out of the car at the end of each sequence, etc.) to give a sense of how/why he was going from location to location.

That's how you sell cars, shoes, energy drinks, and flatbrim hats these days- a knockoff Chewbacca driving a UTV tethered to a crane.  Apparently.

Yeah I cringed hard at that one, especially since I'm been trying to save up for a set of new wheels for many years now...

The engine in the truck is a V6 out of the current Ford GT race car.  It turns out the entire body on that thing was hand made out of aluminum.

I wouldn't cringe too much, they were probably compromised wheels. He goes through wheels like we go through brake pads.

I love it, it's why we love cars. They're silly and a boring one would do it just as well, but why wouldn't you drive sideways with all four tires smoking if you can?

@13:16 I was legitimately impressed. That was a hell of a squeeze.

I know it's popular to E36 M3 on him and his films, but he's doing what we all want to do.  Mindless fun entertainment and cool stunts, well filmed that get's crazy cars in front of millions  and millions (it's at 1.5M so far in about 24 hours) eyeballs.  What's not to love.  It was also great too see Detroit in there.  Fun when you know to the inch every shot in a scene.  BTW, for those not from here, when he was doing donuts around the fist statue in Detroit (Joe Louis fist) that was also turn 10 of the Grand Prix circuit when F1 raced down town before the switch to Indy car and Belle Isle.

I liked the making off videos on Amazon better than the actual video, but it still was a fun way to spend a few minutes.

I didn't care about the wheels, it was just the constant cuts back and forth made it hard to even tell what was going on or appreciate the driving.

If you had Prime and watch the Gymkhana Files, you would see that not much actually went on there.  Just a couple of unrelated stunts/gimmicks, filmed separately, with much gnashing of teeth.

I've enjoyed all of the gymkhana videos, but I have to admit I think the magic has worn off a bit. There was no clear reason to jump from city to city and car to car, some of the stunts were head-scratching (gorilla in the UTV, bare rims, and how many times do we need to see Scotto on a Segway?), and the audio was pretty terrible (or else hearing nothing but rev limiter isn't that interesting).

That said, I did enjoy the junkyard setup, that was pretty cool. The Hoonitruck was neat. Loved Solberg's tandem, in fact I wish he'd do more stuff with other people and cars at the same time, THAT would be cool. The tunnel/bridge jump in Mexico was cool, too.

That was sweeeeeet.

I kinda wish for the 11th one they would do something Penzoil like? Maybe a bit more narrative - more money shots, etc. That said, I'm glad they exist and enjoy them for what they are.
