I am doing a MS2 install on my CJ5. I rebuilt and installed a AMC 360 a year or two ago. I have a lot of the MS2 install done and I am to the point of figuring out my ignition. I have decided to do a trigger wheel on the crank. The trigger will be sandwiched between the belt pulley and the crankshaft balancer. DIY auto tune has a threaded body crank sensor I like but they are back ordered until May. It would of provided the most adjustability and easy install. I wanted to see if the GRM board had any suggestions for a similar sensor that will allow for dialing in the spacing between the trigger wheel and the sensor. Thanks!

Need more info on output and voltages ect but heres a list of 300+ units some are through hole type with two nuts for setting depth. http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?pv183=4534&FV=fff4001e%2Cfff8046a&k=hall+effect&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&quantity=0&ptm=0&fid=0&pageSize=25

DIYautotune also has a fixed sensor that works great. It has a mounting tab with a single hole that you can shim to get the proper gap. Or just make the mount adjustable.

I started with the threaded body sensor from DIY but, at least the sample I got, had to be extremely close to the wheel to trigger at all and was unreliable if the wheel had any runout at all. I switched to the fixed mount model they also sell and that one has worked great for me...it is spaced a comfortable distance from the trigger wheel (I think something like .060") and modest runout does not affect its performance. I believe both were made by Cherry.

I also tried a Honeywell GT101 unit that looks like the fixed model DIY sells and it did not work either - I think the magnet was too strong in that unit.

Thank u for sharing ur experiences with the sensors. I was over thinking this. Something as simple as a solid mount and shims would be easy enough. Thank u all for the help.
