I didn't find anything in the search. But it's midsize 4 door, rwd, 415 hp ls engine, available with a six speed manual.
It is a girthy pig, weighing in at nearly 4000pounds. But considering a better than 10:1 lbs/hp ratio it counts as a hot rod.
What's the hive say about these?
Don't forget the magic magnetic suspension.
I LOVE them. Once they fall to the 20-25k range in the used market I'll have a great time resisting the temptation.

Don't forget that '15+ have Magnetic Ride Control. They're handsome-looking cars too and the interiors are pretty nice. It's a lot of car for the money, good value. Stupid name though.
If you find one at a dealership, chances are that you can get one for severe discount because they aren't strong sellers. Most people don't even know what they are, salesmen included. Ours sat on the lot for 2 years before it sold for a $10K discount, just to get rid of it.
If I needed a fast sedan that blended in, that would be it.
I totally want one. I'm probably going to have to settle for a Pontiac G8 GT.
Total Q ship with a stupid name. What would they call the high performance version? The SS SS?
I think they are incredible cars. Sat in a blue one (gorgeous!) at the auto show and the seats were awesome. Something about a 6-speed rear wheel drive sedan just makes me giggle. Too bad I'm not in the market for one at the moment. Might consider it in a few years after getting the boy off to college.
I agree that the naming is goofy. I actually like the mundane looks, however, as it keeps it as a bit of a sleeper look.
GM didn't promote it too much. I think it's a strong competitor for the Charger, but where it falls down is there was only the one option. SRT8's and Daytona editions brought in customers to Dodge, and their V6 options got them in cars. GM never had that with the SS. I'd assume that a lower end V6 and a mid rage V6/V8 would have made it much more popular. As is, it's just too niche.

Wth! The automatic is the same msrp as the manual!
I wanted a Pontiac G8 GT but then I looked at the prices of the used ones.
I will wait till the market is saturated with SSs thank you very much.

Eventually, the manual will wind up costing more.

Oh, is that what those are?
Over 10 dealers within 250 miles do not have them.
Like the car, but hate the interior. GM doesn't know how to do pleasant plastics, which for a $45k car should be much improved.
I have a feeling the manual trans cars will hold their values very well in the used market due to limited supply/competition. Much like the G8 GXP did.
Good luck finding a "cheap" one in a few years.
Not many manual trans 400+HP naturally aspirated V8 sedans out there to buy instead.

This.
Not sure why everyone gets moist over the SS and G8 GT. You can find the nicest first gen CTS-V in the world for $20,000, and only be down 15hp bone stock

Yes, BUT... the 1st gen CTS-V hasn't aged well, and is a substantially smaller car, with a downright laughable interior dash aesthetics.
The fullsize holden is a different breed of size in the true spirit of a full size sedan, not a car that was designed as a 'tweener to slot between a BMW 3 and 5-series.

Is the SS nicer? Obviously.

Don't forget the original V's rear differential that was made of glass and broke if you looked at it wrong, the ludicrous amounts of wheelhop, weak engine/trans/diff mounts, cheesy rubber driveshaft couplers that were failure prone and weirdo 6-lug hubs.

A first generation CTS-V is also 10 years old at this point, far from having a warranty, likely has been run hard by prior owners, is guaranteed to need something and doesn't have that new car smell.
I saw one run at our regional autox last year. He doufed it up with holden bumpers and steering wheel. Bone stock otherwise he said, i was running cones while he was running and it looked really flat for what i expected to be a big heavy sedan but then again it weighs the same as a challenger so...maybe we should readjust our weight guestimater, not like anyones going to make a 2k lb car like a na miata or crx... Oh and THE SOUND!!! Stock as i said but i guess it has some active sound whatever in the exhaust? Quiet at idle but wot surprised me for a stock car.

I did a quick inventory search in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and found five. Four new and one used. Three of them including the 2014 were autos while the other two were manual. 2014 was priced at 38k (no, I forgot to note the miles..) and the others in the $48k range.
I really want to go test drive one now... Thanks much guys!!
"I'll pick one up in a few years, when they're cheap." If no one buys one when they're new, they'll be none around to become cheap. You probably said the same thing with the G8 GXP. How's that working out?
