Anybody have any ideas on how to heat cycle tires and brakes in winter before my first race? There is no practice day offered for the first race of teh year (February 1st at Barber).
I am near Pittsburgh PA and don't have the ability to drive the car on teh street. How hot do you suppose I need to get the tires (BFG rivals) to make sure they are good to go for the race?
Thanks!

leave home a day early. heat cycle on streets near Barber.
The car isnt street legal at this point.
get a grmer who is local to barber and has a vehicle that the tires will fit on to meet you there?
Anybody near Brimingham and available Friday January 31st? Ideally, the car would be a 2nd gen RX7. However, A mx6 / probe, maybe a mustang, jeep wrangler, 240, etc... would work.
Let me know!
Thanks!

Heat-cycle or warming up immediately before driving? You could get some tire warmers, borrowed or bought used...
NJMP has a track day on January 11, check their website.
the way the weather is going.. no putting heat into any tyres here in NJ

What I do is find a large, empty parking lot in an uninhabited area. Trailer the car over and do whatever you need to do. Industrial parks on a Sunday are good for this. A good dead end road that sees very little traffic also works well.
NJMP DOES have a trackday this weekend. I emailed them to see if they would let me run in the open group with one of my teammates.
The weather is supposed to be 50+ degrees in NJ this weekend. That is similar to the temps at Barber in February.
Thanks for the suggestions everybody!
