I could be wrong, but I don't think there is really a whole lot to making a stick axle handle, like you said, it's just that nobody bothers aside from dirt track stuff. Mount it with a well designed 4 link (most probably aren't and bind) you could use a split wishbone on an I beam axle but you'll have to live with however much roll resistance is built in (the axle is forced to twist when the suspension articulates). You bend the axle (or pie cut and weld if it's a tube) to get however much static camber you're willing to put with, and then all of your tuning is in caster, toe, springs, shocks, and sway bars.

The frame height is 4.5 inches. I haven't finished the car. So, I haven't driven it yet. But, I built a Cobra replica and several other similar cars with 4.5 inch clearance. I drove those cars a lot and never had a problem. This car, with out front or rear overhangs, shouldn't be a problem.

My GT6 had 5" of clearance, so I can relate to most clearance issues. I was mainly wondering about just seeing around in traffic. I remember the first time I drove my 914 and was shocked at how little I could see all of a sudden. This car looks to be even shorter.

Easiest way to do it is an href tag. Not sure why the forum doesn't do it automatically anymore.
