I don't think I've ever driven anything with backup sensors and not turned them off. Nothing drives me crazy more than "beep beep beep BEEEEEEEEP" when I'm sitting there thinking "shut the berkeley up you stupid car, that's a piece of tall grass behind you, I don't give a E36 M3 if you think it's in the way".

Could be a useful feature, I'd use it sometimes. If it only engaged at very low speeds I wouldn't complain.
Edit: There's one little problem with this feature that could encourage a bad practice: setting your mirrors so far inward that you can normally see the sides of your car in them. The "anti-curb-rash reversing mirror position" should be downward and inward from the normal driving position.
I've thought about having a car that could remember mirror positions, one for normal driving and one for reversing below 10kph, but then I thought about all the costly exotic hardware that would require and forgot about it
Because of this thread, I moved my mirror switch in my RDX to the right side and bam, the mirror lowered in reverse. Cool!
