Driving down HWY64 through Cary NC the other day I spotted a car I couldn't identify. I'll try to give as many details as possible.
-possibly 50s vintage
-coupe
-big tail fins
-Looked foreign
- first thoughts were Aston Martin, but I could be wrong
The only thing I've found that "might" be it is a Peerless GT, but I remember the tail fins being larger and the front being lower to the ground in the middle.

You guys are awesome, I think it may have been a Studebaker Golden Hawk!
There was also a Packard Hawk after the merger. That would be an exciting thing to see because they are extremely rare.

That is just sweet looking. Been helping my dad wrench on his '57 Chevy lately and have a growing affinity for these 50s cars.

Wasn't a Volvo P1800, was it? I've seen at least one around the Cary area.
Did it have tentacles behind the fins?

That was actually my first thought, but the fins were much larger
They did come with hardtops too.

You are right. It's a Peerless GT. Look to be the same one I found on Russo & Steele Auction site.
