WTF $1,600 really? 95 jaguar xj8 in good condition, runs perfect.cold Ac , nice leather interior Asking $1600 obo That has to have rust belt flip potential to it. I mean really, $1,600 for a running driving, apparently in reasonable condition XJ that hasn't got the super leggera rust treatment. I need to expand my day dream craigslust searching beyond orange countr
The ad says it is an XJ8 but it is really an XJ6. 97 was the first year for the XJ8. It looks very similar but has a different dash, rounded marker lights and turn signals, and a 4.0 v8 instead of the inline 6.
If you are going to get one, hold out for an XJR. One can be had for challenge money if you look.

Actually these are excellent cars. The motors are very well built. There are two things you have to be carful of with these.
The first I oil changes. Early and often to keep the motor happy
The second is the supoercharger. It I my understanding they need major servicing/rebuilding at 75-100k miles. Really a maintenance item but expensive and most people are not willing to accept that.
Side note: I want to scavenge a Millenia blower and put it on something, but have no idea how much power they're capable of making.
Yeah, and iirc the motor more or less needs to come out for three blower service. I've driven several, including one thst a friend of mine got drunk and 5 speed swapped (we all have those friends, right?) And they're amazing cars. The sad thing is, there's not many well.maintained ones left.
I ended up being the second transporter in bringing this car from Texas to Georgia, I took the leg from Gainesville to Atlanta, the new owner said to go ahead and enter it.
The car was run as at arrived, which is the same as 2014 down to the dirt.
It was the 3rd time the car had been a competitor at the Challenge.
It was slow but fun to rotate in the autocross.
