Bat signal!!
We went to the Trackcross today at Oregon Raceway Park and after the event when switching back to his street time our neighbor's 09 335i bricked the ECU. My collector car insurance won't tow it because it's not our car and his insurance won't tow it because it's at a race track.
We need to get it to Vancouver or Kelso WA tomorrow. Any ideas? Any help?
Are you able to ratchet strap it to a vehicle and pull it to the nearby RV park and see if insurance will tow it from there?
In reply to hunter47 :
No and he already told his insurance so they aren't going to tow it anyway.
He may just have to pay out of pocket for the tow.
What about a AAA membership?
I think it is a 3 day waiting period after signing up. But, then they will tow it up to 100 or 200 miles.
The car must wear a valid plate and current inspection sticker (if that's a thing where you live.)
Can the car be moved closer to spectator parking lot? Having it picked up on a non-race day like a Tuesday might be better than a Saturday with a hot track.
See my recent chatter in this thread
See if anyone you know has AAA. They don't even check registration, just need someone there with their card at pickup. And will deliver anywhere you ask.
They ended up renting a U-Haul trailer and are on the way home with the car now. Thanks everyone!
