Made me think of an S60.
omg you guys are on crack it's not any kind of lumina. nor a malibu.
i thought catera because of general shape and pretty sharp hood creases, but no moulding down side throws me off. look for cars with unusually low door handles
Catera was my first thought. Another clue is the way the taillight seems to angle down to the bumper as it rounds the corner.
I also thought Mitsu Galant or Diamante, but I'm not thinking that any more.
Way to go would be to plot it on a CAD program and do measurements, and compare with the most likely choices. We do this all the time at work doing military things, it's fairly easy.
Unfortunately, don't have that software on my home computer.
As for me, the details make me lean toward 98 Accord. Catera is close too, but considering how few of those are still around I think that's a pretty low probability compared to an Accord, of which there are approximately 830 billion silver late-90s once probably still driving around.
also, GRM is probalby the worst place to ask. We're all looking for it to be some oddball limited-production gray-market JDM-model federalized import that there is only one of in the entire state.
When in reality, it's probably just a boring Accord
so is what we're saying is that all the late 90 early 2k sedans looked the same?...
my inital thought was a lumina... but comparing to a pic I don't think that is right... prob a honda
The hood shape makes me think Volvo but other things don't match. I'd tend to agree with the Accord sentiment.
Not a first gen L-series. No wraparound yellow front corners. Definitely not a post-refresh L-Series either.
Lexus ES 300
Lower front bumper vents, hood creases, tailights angle down towards the front. Cheap enough someone will drive it without insurance or license.
2000 Ford Taurus. Mirrors on the door front edge, high handles, Lumina-looking headlights, sharp hood creases, wrap-around the back taillights, low side molding.

Too big to be a 101 and the rear window is.wrong
Can't it be a Camry like my dad's mid-2000?
Minus sunroof:

All right, I'm solidly in this camp now. This checks most of the right boxes.
Was the Es300 offered without sunroof because clearly the car in question has no sunroof?
I am leaning towards '00 Accord. Oddly it was the Accra TL that swayed me to Accord because I think all TLs had sunroof.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. I was actually looking at 90s Tauruses because I was sure there was one that looks like it, I narrowed my options a bit too much!
