Turbo Caravan, it ends here.
Nah, it ends in Turn One. (ducking, running away)
Don't be too hard on me, I used to road race FWD (Volkswagens), but nothing with that much power.

Factory equipped, all the Turo Ddodge goodies work, suspension is similar to the G-body and 13 second 1/4 miles can be had on pump gas and no nitrous. Heck, I have seen some in the 12s.
Man, those 2.2 Turbos really are one of the most under-rated engines of the era, aren't they? That thing team Mini-Me built for the Challenge was great.
You have a turbo Caravan?

Worse still... Daddy! The armrest just ate my watch!
I think it would be awesome to build a stout tube chassis with proper racing geometry, a mid-mounted LS-1 and drop a mid-80s woodgrain sided Chrysler body on top. Ofcourse it would need ridiculous flares and Eagle slicks to seal the mental picture I'm working from.

Moparman's got the win. Turbo Caravan- nothing else comes close.
I'm not sure I agree that the Astro and Aerostar qualify as minivans. They are frequently called "midivans". I would say a full sized van is built on a truck frame and platform, while a minivan is built on a lower car floorpan.
That would rule out the Astro. It's got a full frame. And the Aerostar is kind of halfway there- it's got a full frame, which got integrated into the pan (because the Ford designers of the time didn't know how to design a unibody vehicle).
But it doesn't rally matter. The turbo Caravan FTW.
Anyone want one? There's one in my back yard!
The Astro does not have a full frame. There is a large front sub-frame, like a 70's Camaro or Nova. The Ford is all unibody.
Hmm, turbo 4 vs big V8....
this is the problem with starting a racing series with little to no rules. You end up with Can Am.
This is the great thing about starting a racing series with little to no rules. You end up with Can Am!

No, no, no.
The qualification for minivan has nothing to do with any of your technical mumbo-jumbo. The test comes down to two things:
1) How much of a dork you feel like when you're driving it and you're seen by your buddies.
2) How much you're gonna kick yourself for trading your Mustang/Miata/Monte Carlo SS in on one 5 years down the road.

I have been a minivan guy since 1996, I haven't looked back.
Well, I guess I have 5 vehicles and the minivan is only one of them....
I would race, there is a Toyota mid engine van for sale in my neighborhood.
how much for the turbo mini van? does it run?
can it make a trip back to ohio?
