Looks like there is going to be a couple of GRM Challengers running Drag Week again! Ed Malle and I are both registered and will be hammering the track in September. Likely we'll both be in former and/or future challenge cars.
Can't wait!

Just a couple weeks before GRM Challenge.
Is this a good reason to buy that Nitrous Kit and a set of drag tires for for the Infiniti Q45?
Is this even the right type of place for an Infiniti Q45? (Is any motorsports really the right place for a Q45?)
Is this really just an event for 10 second or less drag monsters?
In reply to JohnRW1621: Yes, this is a good reason for nitrous and drag radials. Yes, anything is welcome and the Hot Rod guys will probably find it hilarious that you are nitrousing a luxury barge. No, this isn't just an event for 6-second guided missiles, there are plenty of 11-second and slower cars there.
Any other questions?
If you didn't already register though, you are berked, because all slots sold in 18 minutes.
Just how much nitrous were you thinking?....

18 minutes! Dam, that's quick.
We'll, count on me to be there in Norwalk. Happy to help in anyway possible. That help may also include local knowledge beforehand.

We are hoping to get back in '17 with 2 cars. With the boys graduating, we are building up the base....two trucks, two trailers, refurbing a house for Fuzzy. Plus we want to get back to LSR. We have done Drag Week 3 times. Once with Pat, once with Ed, once on our own. Much more fun with those guys. Thrilled for both of them to get in again.

Pat, i know ed doesn't get on the forum but this goes for both of you. I'm about 35 minutes straight east of Norwalk and have MIG, TIG, tire machines, torches, almost any tool you could think of, drill press, gobs of LS parts(in ed's case if he's bringing what i think he is) etc... so if either of you would require assistance you are not far from help. if you want it you can toss my # in your phone and keep it in mind. Either way maybe we'll see you there, if not definitely in gainesville.
I went for the first time year before last in Tulsa and it was awesome. My friends and I kept seeing Freiberg just walking around along with Lutz and several others. I had no camera and a broken phone so now pictures came out of it, but it doubled as my then 3 year old son's first trip to a drag strip so it was all around a huge win. For those who do not now the premise is simple. Multiple days of drag racing on the clock for ET's spread out over a long road trip (and yes 2000whp promods are seen cruising down the highway and side streets with trailers attached). Its too much fun to explain.

Ed was there with the Time Bomb and we had our 60 Stude Gasser. What were you in?
In reply to wheels777: We were spectators and we were only there on day one Tulsa but We were the contingent of 3S Mitsubishi's (Stealth RT/TT and VR4's) My brother was also there making passes the night before with his Pearl Yellow 1994 Dodge stealth. I have a twin but its stock and his is quite quick for a car that weights that much. Most people remember our group because it includes a total of 6 Pearl Yellow cars and they stand out like a soar thumb. We live here so it was an easy trip. We are talking about a challenge car but its all theoretical right now.
