I hope so if they do the barebones version. The raptor is a steaming pile of E36 M3, IMO. I'd rather have a barebones 5.0 rcsb Ford.

Agreed, a single cab short bed hellcat Ram would be wicked cool. Sadly, out of my price range right right now. I doubt, however, that it'll be available as anything but a loaded quad cab truck.
Regarding Ford's, I didn't know until recently that you could buy a single cab short bed F-150 XL with the ecotec V6. It's the 2.7 and not the 3.5, but it was sweet enough that it made me consider buying a Ford. Ram and GM have stopped selling short bed single cabs and I thought Ford had, too.

I still don’t know why they haven’t done a retro Little Red Express. Seems a natural for a regular cab short-bed Hemi. Hellcat engine even better. Is there any rule against stacks these days?
Dodge has been making all sorts of callbacks to old car names. Why not make a Warlock or Little Red Express? Gotta bring back flare sides too

Yeah, there's a new F150 with regular cab, mid size bed in my town. It gets a lot of my attention when I see it out and about. Don't know if it's got the base NA V6, the 2.7 Ecoboost, or the 5.0 though. I haven't driven any of the powertrains, but I think for this exercise I'd lean heavily towards the Coyote.
I tell ya, there are a couple new F150s here in town with dropped springs that look gooooood. If I was in the market for a sport truck, the rcsb ford lowered with the 2.7 EB would be awesome.
as for the Helltruck, I can't imagine it not being a fully optioned Luxobarge 4dr because that's what sells. Still be fast as hell though.

They already have the Warlock. They brought it back to kinda replace the Ram Rebel.
Ever since they found out that people would pay $70,000 for a truck, to do the same things that they could do in a Corolla, basic work trucks became pointless to the pencil pushers.
Can't blame them for going after the profits, but we don't have to like it.
Ram release this very, very short teaser video a few days ago on the same morning that Ford introduced the new F150. It doesn't show much except a cloud of dirt and some engine noise, but says that it's coming late in the summer of 2020. Ford is rumored to be putting the new GT500 engine into an F150, probably for the next Raptor, but it would be cool if they did a Lightning too.
So I just looked on fords website..
For 32,000 you can get a 4x2 Regular Cab, 6.5' bed, 2.7L turbo F150 with a locking 3.73 rear end and tow package. Apparently weight is right at 4000 lbs. An extra $1200 gets you a 395hp 5.0L V8. This amuses me.
Compared to the cheapest Ecoboost Mustang that's 20 less HP, 400lbs heavier, 6000 more expensive, but it has a bed.
Compared to a 1994 lightning it's -400lbs, +80-150 HP, +3500 lbs towing (8500lbs total), +1125lbs Payload (1860lbs), all for an inflation adjusted $6000 less (1994 MSRP 22,000).
Compared to a 1999 Lightning it's -600lbs, -35 HP (2.7T) to +40 HP (5.0), +3500 lbs towing (8500lbs total), +1060lbs Payload (1860lbs), all for an inflation adjusted $13,000 less (1999 MSRP 29,000).
Imagine one of these with a 3-4" drop and 335 Rivals...
What at time to be alive!
What is old is new again. Factory performance trucks go back to probably the Lil' Red Express but that was more flash than power. I think Ford gets credit for the first real performance truck.
Yes, my truck and my commentary.

Actually, I would say the first true performance truck would be the '64-'64 Dodge D100 Custom Sports Special with the High Performance Pack. It was offered from the factory as a 2WD, standard cab pickup with a 426ci Wedge motor, floor-shifted 4-speed, bucket seats, stripes, Sun tachometer and lightweight bumpers.

While I'm affording $70k in vehicle payments, it doesn't mean I wish to continue.
I just saw this article that Dodge now sells the Hellcat engine in the Durango, but it's going to be available for one year only. I'm kind of surprised it took this long since that engine has been available in the Grand Cherokee for a while, which I think shares a platform with the Durango.

I vaguely remember something about that Dodge. The Chevy 454 SS and GMC Syclone beat the Lightning to market as well.

The original lil red express made 230 hp the original lighting made 240 hp. The Syclone and 454ss both came before the lightning. Syclone was rated at 295 hp 454 ss made 230 hp initially and later 255 hp.
I just read about the new Ford crate motor, Godzilla.
$8150 ish free shipping, 430 hp and 475 foot pound of twisty power. Stock. No boost.
I have been staring at a 2002 F350 with a bad 6.0 and singles, and if I had a winning lottery ticket I'd be dialing up Ford parts right now.

And if you broke the limit tab off the throttle on the Syclone it would go even faster. They put it there so it would not be faster than the corvette.

I looked into that as I'd never heard of it. I wonder how many CSS actually were delivered with the 426. It seems they were available with the entire gamut of V8 engines starting with the 318 Poly.

According to this at the most only 50 were made with the wedge
https://www.allpar.com/model/ram/ram-trucks-D.html
Dodge management only authorized 50 trucks could be built with the 426 Street Wedge High Performance Package — according to former Dodge truck engineer Bruce Thomas of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, who said that far fewer than 50 examples were actually produced. Currently the registry recognizes 31 trucks with these packages or combinations of them.
I muscle trucks!
I have had 2 Ram 1500s that I wanted to turn into muscle trucks. My first, a 2010, was a black, single cab, shortbed, 2wd, Hemi. My current one is a 2015, black, single cab, shortbed, 2wd Hemi. Initially, I found a 2015 F150 XL, 3.5 Ecoboost, single cab, 2WD longbed in blue with the XL Sport package locally but the longbed made the proportions look weird. You can made stupid power on the 3.5TT with a tune and a few supporting mods (intercooler, exhaust, intake). Take a look at the dyno graphs on 5 Star Tuning's webpage for the 3.5 Ecoboost. Its berkeleying ridiculous. The 5L makes great power with a power adder but 98% of the trucks I found were white work trucks.
And compared to my single cab, 2wd Ram, a comparable F150 is almost 500lbs lighter. I just happened to stumble across a Ram that had everything I was looking for first, so I bought it.
I have all of these dreams for my 2015 Ram and have been researching superchargers. The 5.7 Hemi kinda sucks in that regard. The Edelbrock E-force kit only makes 421RWHP and 441ft-lbs or torque. If I had berk you money, I'd swap a Hellcat in from a wrecked Charger/Challenger and might attempt a 6 speed manual conversion. Can you image a 707hp, manual, RWD pickup? What a dumb idea lol.
So far I have had my Ram tuned, installed a Vararam Airgrabber intake, deleted the active grille shutters, installed a muffler delete kit and installed front and rear Hellwig sway bars. I have a sport brake kit waiting to be installed and just ordered a complete set of Tier 3 Core4x4 rear control arms. After that it will be a Belltech 2/4 lowering kit and QA1 shocks. Somewhere in there will be a set of ARH 1 3/4" long tube headers with matching y-pipe. The wheels I want are 22x10 bronze Hellcat replicas but those will come down the road a bit.
The world needs more muscle trucks!

They are also now offering an 807hp Challenger on drag radials called the Super Stock (not sure how much else is different from the one year only Demon) and a 797hp Charger Hellcat Widebody Redeye. Every other manufacturer is going "We need more EVs and CUVs" and Mopar is going "We need to jam the Hellcat engine in more stuff." It'll catch them out eventually and they'll get burned, but it's glorious while it lasts. Now, if only we could get a mid-engine, RWD Pacifica Hellcat.
