Once someone cracks the code, more performance is often just the press of a button away.
The MHD Tuning suite that we’ve been using with our BMW 435i project car has been an invaluable tool not only for logging engine performance data but for increasing power (once we got the intake temps s…

I love that we live in a day and age where all you need to go faster is an app and a dongle.
Also, the MHD Suite looks really user-friendly.
What is the impact like to drivability? It might be nice for non M models to get more aggressive programming for the street too.

JG seems happy with it. He’s currently on a plane flying from Florida to the West Coast, so give him a bit to chime in.

I'm going to look into this. My X3 doesn't downshift smoothly coming to a stop when it is running the "normal" setting. In "sport" mode it is fine. I just hate having to set it to sport every time I start it and the wife even complains, "It isn't smooth"

I honestly don't have much time on the tune not in a track context, but in just my limited street driving warming the car up it seems to scale nicely with acceleration. So, low-demand shifts don't slam you back in the seat, but are noticeably quicker and crisper than with the stock tune. I'm honestly looking forward to experiencing it in auto mode more. XAuto says the auto remapping is really impressive.
I reflashed the trans in my 2000 Grand Cherokee a few years back. Made a big difference in driveability, especially when climbing passes. It used to hang on to high gears too long and then drop two, now it drops one earlier and can maintain speed.
I've been on an xHP tune on my ZF 6HP transmission for a number of years now and it's a slick piece of software indeed. You can also load custom tunes and I've very happy with the one I got from Sutphin Tuning (https://sutphintuning.com) and his customer service has been excellent. 6HP is not as smart as latest 8 speeds and every bit of tweaking helps.
