How cool would it be for them to just tour non-F1 race tracks all over the world setting track records everywhere they go?

Up until now, the France family has been against allowing open-wheel cars on the banking. I guess they are only allowing this as a demo run, maybe not at full speed.

The Frances are not my favorite family... In any case, a modern F1 car cannot generate enough heat in the brakes and tires to safe at "parade lap" speeds. It's got to be either a walking pace or at least 8/10.

I'd love to see them go to Summit Point or the old Nelson Ledges.

Couple of points about this.

  1. I was in this race.

  2. I was about 3 cars back when this happened.

  3. I think that car was leading at the time.

  4. The deer apparently survived.

  5. My wife and I won this race.

Hopefully they sort out the tires. Remember the fiasco at Indy in 2005 when Michelin realized their tires could not handle the loads of the banking at Indy. http://www.caranddriver.com/columns/world-class-formula-1-fiasco-at-indianapolis-feature

My thought too. If you've shipped everything out there why wouldn't you want to open it up and see what they'll do.

to set records for top speed go to Talladega, The Daytona track requires more driver input and is Bumppppppy in light cars, 250mph could happen, but would you really want to race at that speed in a Formula or Indy car.
