I haven't seen one around here in any condition in a long time.

Especially since those things are essentially biodegradable anywhere north of the Mason/Dixon line.

I remember looking at rusty '82s in the summer of '85, and that was like six years ago...

In reply to Woody:

Alberta uses sand in the winter rather than salt. We in Ontario get the salt and the rust.

We definitely use salt, but not the saline solution I've saw being thrown down in Ontario. Cars can live rust free here if washed religiously during the winter. In Ontario, there is no hope (I've saw cars 5 years old built in the new millennium rusting to pieces!)

Those cars were garage kept and never winter driven. Just look at the mileage. It's relatively common around here to have cars like that.

in the land of salt and rust.. you buy a beater for the winter and keep the good car in the garage

Just saw a sweet one in MA today. Cranberry color with 13's and sounded nice.

It's the freeze-thaw-freeze cycle that kills cars.

Edmonton freezes and stays frozen in the winter, I've had good, rust-free cars that came from that area of North Texas.

very very true. That is why you should never put a frozen car in the garage

I see a few of those around around akron, they are rusted to high hell but still on the road.

I am wondering what the reserve is going to be on that thing tho

That first car has 229,000 miles on it.

Mazda's don't count. The ones around here seem to rust within a few years off the lot. I don't see anything else with rust on it that's not at least 10, and more likely 15 years old.

Joke, or bad math? I know 85 doesn't seem that long ago to me.

Sorry...*kilometers*...

Which for a 31 years old car is just over 7000 kilometers/year. So I stand by my statement
