I can't remember if we asked this one directly before, so I figured I'd ask again.
This month makes 36 years of ownership for the Datsun and 33 years of racing it; so I was curious how long some of you have had their cars.
I think Frenchyd has had his MG from new or really close to it.
My '90 Miata was built in June of 1989 or 32.5 years ago. I bought it in May 1993 or 28.5 years ago.
We kept a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer for 15 years - longest car between us.
My dad kept a '68 Oldsmobile "98" for 17 years.
My uncle kept a '65 Shelby Mustang almost 55 years. Still pissed my cousins wouldn't let me see the car 2-3 years ago.

Wait, you're supposed to KEEP them?!?
The BMW is closing in on 4 yeas of ownership now.
The Intrepid is 16 or 17 years of ownership. I really need to get that thing back up and running properly in 22'
2010 Ody: 7.5 years
2010 328i: 6 months
2010 Forester: 5 months (= 5 months too long!)
2010 9-3: 4 months
Current cars?
Trans am - 18 years
LSe30 - 8 years
e30truck - 5 years
volvoe30 - 3 years
c50 - 3 years
StypeR - 3? years
b5s4avant - under 2 years
f350 - a year-ish
alfetta - 2 years-ish
The heavy hitters stick around. The "I have to own one at least once" seem to ebb and flow.
'07 Passat - 9 years (personal lifetime best)
'04 Suburban - 4 years
'93 Miata - Almost 2 years
'87 Fiero - same
'59 Zamboni - A bit over 2 years
'92 Miata - 5 days
36 years and counting for my MGA. My uncle bought a new BMW R60 in 1968 and still has it. We've had some farm tractors longer, but they usually last forever, so not that unusual.

A guy in my club bought his Sprite new in 1962, put a roll bar in it immediately, and went racing. It has dash plaques from podium finishes dated in 1963. He's been racing and driving it since then, and still autocrosses it.
59 years.
X1/9 17 years
current Volvo 245 just shy of 10 years, but it is my 6th 245, I lost two to a flood, 2 to rust, and sold one before I believed they run forever.
formerly ran my Volvo 445 Duett 18 years, personal record.
My 78 power wagon was given to me in 99, I've put twenty five miles on it and it's been in south central Iowa since given so not sure it counts. Actually, I suppose it's still there....
otherwise; 8 years is my longest
Trans Am: It will be 20 years next June. Wow, that went quick! No idea why I still have it, but there it sits. Planning to have it back on the road for the 20th anniversary, but I've said that for the past 11 years.
Power Wagon: That will be 3 years in January; picked that up on January 12th, 2019.
Forte GT: I hit a year of ownership back on Labor Day weekend. The baby of the fleet.
My Boxster turned 3 last week. That's usually when I start looking to change. It's not leaving unless there's a Cayman or 911 Turbo coming in.
Longest was the Javelin - 2010 to 2016
The 944 S2 is definitely going to break that record.
91 Silverado - 10 years
91 Infiniti G20 - 8 years i think, started as a project
07 Fit - 7 years
My record was 13 years for my 86 Toyota SR5 pickup. Never should have let that one go.
Er... Longest is the BMW 2002, which I've had since... well, if we do the Grandpa's hammer thing... 1994? About 27 years? It had a different body then... But the same subframes!
Most recent is the Wolseley, which is a couple of years ago now.
Neither of those actually... run. Or pretend to be close to it. Neither has a drivetrain, and the Hornet is 32% rust by weight. Some settling may have occurred in shipping.
Of the vehicles that run and drive(ish), the MGB is the most recent at about three years ago, while the Mini is the longest at six years.
The black RX-7 will have been under the oppression of my hobnailed boot for 15 years next month. It's been rallycrossed pretty much from the get-go as a replacement for my silver one, which was the last one I drove in the winter.
The red RX-7, five years this month.
The Volvo, four years last month.
The others, I honestly don't remember.
The TR6 that I sold last year was my longest ownership at 31 years. Of my currently owned...
MSM - 14 years
TR6 - 11 years
Fiesta ST - 4 years
FJ Cruiser - 10 months
1976 Porsche 911 - purchased in 2001, and used to drive away from our wedding in 2002. So 20.
2002 Tundra - 1 year and 2 months
1970 VW project - 4 months
12 years is the best I've done with a car (Civic Si and Porsche 911), but I still own the Porsche, so that clock is still ticking.
I owned my 1977 Honda CB550F Super Sport for 19 years before I sold it.
I think you can get to a point where you can be owned by your cars if you're not careful.
