My 2014 eco diesel GC convinced me to never give Stellantis another dime.  Horrible experience, limited service techs, and stranded me multiple times both close to and hours from my home.  No thanks not again.

What's your truck budget? There are F-150 diesels too.

I live about 10 miles from one of the Ram factories here in the Detroit area. Seems like every other vehicle in this area is a Dodge Ram and about 75% of them are black. They all look identical. As a side note, I have a friend who works at the Ram factory and just recently bought a GMC Acadia because he was so tired of having issues with driving the Rams. To be fair some of the problems were small but the parts were back ordered for months and the vehicle was not drivable while waiting for parts.

Tired of issues with rams, so he buys one of the least reliable cars made in the last decade? That's one way to do it I guess.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 long bed, but mine has the 5.7L V8. Its a very smooth-riding and quiet truck around town and on the highway. Tow capacity is high enough for my needs (12k lbs), but there's quite a lot of squat when towing. I guess that's the trade-off for the gentle road manners.

Besides the ride quality, the Apple iPhone integration is among the best I've seen in any modern car/truck, including my dad's 2021 Porsche. So, overall, it's great for a daily driven truck.

What's missing are modern amenities, like adaptive cruise control, park assist, and lane departure warning. Personally, I find that stuff distracting and annoying, so I'm happy not to have it. But I bet a lot of folks will complain about it. Fuel economy averages about 13-14 mpg for me.

Acadias are pretty good, actually.  They're amazing in that despite attracting some of the most mechanically negligent owners possible, they just keep on truckin'.

The 2500 is the answer.  The 6.4 is excellent.  The exotic choice will provide exotic problems.
