Looking at painting the roof on my '52 Ford Victoria, most likely with a single stage paint. it's all in primer at the moment, about how much paint am I likely to need for topcoat?

Usually depends on the paint, amount of coats, and the area being covered.  The paint should be rated in square feet per ounce, so find out the square footage of the roof of your ride and then look up the paint you want to use.  You'll also want to plan in extra for any issues that might arise during painting, not sure what a good rule of thumb is there, but the rest of this should be enough to get you started on some of the math.

It will vary wildly based on the paint system.
