I was given an engine mount last fall as a gift. It has a round poly bushing with a metal sleeve bushing where a bolt goes through. I recently attempted to install it and realized I somehow lost the metal sleeve bushing part.

Sleeve bushings/bearings seem to be common, how would I find one that could work? "Cored bar stock" seems like something that would work too. The dimensions are ID 10mm, OD 18mm or 2/5" * 7/10" (micrometer is out of batteries so that's as precise as I can be). I've googled/visited some sites and couldn't find anything in this kind of dimension. I suspect any metal material would be fine. I don't mind slightly drilling out the sleeve bushing or the poly. Length is around 94mm / 3 7/10th and I wouldn't object cutting/grinding to length, stacking 2 sleeves, etc.

I called the company which sells the part. They may be able to help out, but they would have to try to order the part from their manufacturer and this wouldn't be a normal thing they would do. I suspect this would cost ~1/2 the price of the mount after shipping, etc. and take a while.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would look at McMaster-Carr under steel hollow rod or steel tube. Another option might be the local pick and pull. If you know the mount application, you might get the sleeve from a stock mount?

Spent some more time on McMaster-Carr's website and I haven't had any luck with hollow tubes.

I found metal spacers which have similar inner diameter, but an outer diameter which is a fair bit bigger. I suppose these might work but are not ideal. They won't ship to my location.  https://www.boltdepot.com/Spacers_Zinc_plated_steel_13_32.aspx

The OEM mount is a different design unfortunately and doesn't have a similar sleave.

So you need slightly bigger than 3/8" ID and slightly smaller than 3/4" OD?

Cut to length, drill out center, insert bolt, put nut on bolt and tighten, clamp bolt in drill, spin against material removal device of choice.

I could make that for you in about 20 minutes with stock I have on hand. I have a 10 MM reamer so I can get the ID exact. and the other two dimentions are easy to cut on my lathe.

If you think about going the McCar way your looking at at least $20+ when you throw in shipping and you'd still have to make the part.

Pay me what you'd pay them and I'll mail the part  to you.

I'd make it out of mild steel.

I take PayPal.

PM me if interested.

In case anyone was wondering, jimbbski helped me out with this problem. I took him up on his incredibly generous offer and he fabricated/machined the piece for me for free and shipped it. If you want an example of what a great forum/community this is, look no further. I'm gobsmacked by his generosity in giving his time and expertise to a complete stranger. Here are the results of what he created. The ID/OD are precise to odd ball fractions of a millimeter.
