Any more info that that? I used to design generator packages when I was in Louisiana. I am not great at it, but I will say this. At load, the noise is exhaust, housing, fan. At light load it is fan, housing, exhaust.
Without seeing pics or make and model info I can't really give you a direction to go.
But as said before, the easy button is sell it and buy a Honda
