i need to figure out how to get the doors to open. the problem is the cage sits too low so its very hard to fit though the window. there is about 3 inchs from the top of the cage to the bottom of the roof. the drivers side door is just a skin and the passanger side is the whole door.
i have two issues i can do for getting in the car.
bend down the top part of the door till it sits on the cage for room.
or cut the doors open and rig a latch and hinge setup from the hard ware store to have the doors open.
any idea would be usefull in this case since i need to get in and out of the car quickly and easy. i am not a small person and the car is getting used for autocross, some drifting and the challange i hope......
I do plan on setting a driver and passanger seat in the car.

more photos can be seen at the above link that show more sutff on the car for how things are set up....
then again i seem to take pride in doing really big and out in left feild biulds...sigh....i really need to take on something normal some time i think...
pretty serious cage there... can you get a new door and just gut it down enough to keep the hinges and latch?
I couldn't open your Photobucket page.
What about removing the top bar on the driver's side for about 18 inches and then Saw-Zall the door skin down to that point? Hinge the Saw-Zalled door material at the bottom with a hasp of some kind hooking it to the remaining door. To enter you flop the door section down, outside the car. This should give you another 5 or 6 inches to climb through.
If this is a Challenge car, consider the ingress/egress rule. I'm certain that if the car flipped and was on fire, you and I could get out the vent window, motivation supplied. But you don't want to get DNS on a technicality.

What about cutting the door bars and installing a swing out kit?
Or install a piano hinge horizontally part way down the drivers door, say just below the top door bar and rig up a latch system. That way you can leave the door bars if you want. Being that the car looks like it was build for the oval track, probably gettin rid of some bars would be a good idea as well.
Hinge the door downwards....like an upside down gullwing.
Or make the car a t-top type of deal, so you can stand up and get out easily.
Any reason you couldn't just use the stock hinge and latch mechanism?
Trim the door down to the top of the cage.
