I found ont that runs and drives. But is not real nice. Can one of these be rally crossed ? So I can retire the wagon. Slow and heavy. I figure the Saab would be slow and light.

Will breaks from a eighties 900 work ? Could the drive train from same 900 style fit ?

anything can be rallycrossed, but the Sonnet is going to be tough to find parts for if/when you break something. And nobody at any event will have any spares to borrow, lol.

Doubt you're going to squeeze a 900 drivetrain in place of the V4. Bike engines, on the other hand....

Sonett. Not Sonnet. It isn't Shakespeare.

The V4 engine can make plenty of power without needing to resort to turbos, or engine transplants. Also, fyi, the oil pan sits pretty low on these cars, so you'll want to build a proper skidplate and raise the car. Most of the springs under Sonetts have sagged, so you can find new stockers, or modify some 96 springs.

And you can swap on early 4-bolt Monte Carlo hubs to get a more common 4-bolt pattern. But for rallycross, just stick with the 5x170 hubs, and use the strong stock steelies, or some soccerballs.

AND they are a positive ground. If you just replace the battery the way you are used to, you'll fry every wire in the car and let all the smoke out.

Don't ask how I know.
