reading this reminds me of the time when I got stuck in snow in my Spitfire. I was alone and a few miles from the house so I pulled out the choke, put it in 1st gear and pushed it myself. Good times.
Next time, if you don't have chains and it'll fit without hitting anything, tie sections of rope around the tire and rim. Use maybe 4-6 sections to "make" chains. It'll pull you right out with great traction.
