I had a dream last night that my family and I were away from home and I needed to buy a muffler for my truck from an ad on-line. Found one for $2500 which I assumed was a misprint and was supposed to be $25. I bought it without seeing it and went to pick it up. I somehow ended up buying a classic Mini for $2500. The thing is, is that it was really rusty. But the cool part is that is was an extremely rare “bus” version that had bench seats on one side and forward facing single seats along the other and was about 20’ long. I was trying to convince my wife that $2500 was a good price so I logged on to GRM and asked what you guys thought and you told me in that condition, it’d be worth $4-6,000. And that’s when I woke up.
Had another years ago that I owned a Superbird and had it stored under my deck and had forgotten about it but that’s for another time.
I guess I’m a car guy (and a GRM guy too)

I had one the other night where I bought a Hellcat Charger( that I strangely optioned with a front bench seat and a column shift). Boy, talk about disappointment when I woke up and there was no 707hp sedan in the driveway

When I was on vacation, I had a very vivid and detailed dream in which I completely field stripped, cleaned and reassembled a Walther PPK.
I have never owned a Walther PPK.
I had one not too long ago that I bought a brown-gold first-gen RX7 solely because it had snowflake alloys on it. My wife thought that was funny.

I wish I had dreams like that. The dreams I have usually result in me waking up and going "WTF was THAT all about... " ...and then I can't go back to sleep for the next two hours...
I had one the other night, I don't remember all of it well, but me and a friend were in it, we were trying to escape something chasing us in one building by doing some ridiculous leap onto another building, and while plotting the jump I realized it was a dream and I was like "hey this is a dream, let's quit this garbage and do whatever the hell we want!" And then we teleported out of that stressful situation for ridiculous hijinks. At one point I accidentally made a Spider-Man web-shooter machine and went swinging through the streets with it while singing the Spider-Man theme song. Anyway good dream, 9/10, woke well-rested.

You weren't supposed to remember that, black helicopters inbound to repair the gap in your "vacation memories"...

I had a dream that my Mustang would stop having random parts fail on me
Then I woke up and realized I could have just bought a BMW and have a better car while doing all those repairs
Pretty much all of my dreams...
I dream super vivid scenes from the future. At one point after I recognized that I was doing it, I came up on the point in time dreamed and did the opposite thing from the dream. What followed was the single worst week if my life. Ever since then I've done exactly what the dreams portray.
Yes, I'm serious. I've actually freaked people out who were with me when I've said "red pickup will drive by, the neighbor's dog will bark, then the kids down the street will crash his bike" and it happened.

I always seem to be in office buildings that I vaguely recall and not being able to find my way out....
In what I call my stress dreams, I'm back on the horse tracks again.
I was in the business for 12 years, and with the exception of one summer working for a racetrack vet (1989), it's been 33 years since I moved home to Florida for college.

How many people still get the “forgot to drop a class and the final is today” dream?

Ok... So I have had several dreams like this in which I remember very clear details. Things I have never seen before but there they are in the dream, and then sometimes years later it plays out. Occasionally when I have these 'normal' dreams I write it down, but I have told friend about it also, and then the moments happen.
I have no explanation, but I will say I believe you even if nobody else does.
I spat coffee when I got to the Superbird part

I seem to have a version of that dream several times per year. Usually, it's something like "I forgot to go to math class all year and today is the final".
Mine is at least partly based in reality. When I was a junior in college, I was half an hour late for a Marketing final because I was in the junkyard removing a front sway bar and it was fighting me.

I was down the street at a local convenience store, Cumberland Farms, and there at the gas pumps was a Plymouth Superbird. I of course was ogling it with a friend and that apparently jarred my memory that I had one of my very own that I had forgotten about at home! I quickly drove home to pull it out of storage underneath my back deck. It was Hemi Orange.
And again... I woke up.

I'm glad I'm not alone. It freaks me out a little.
In reply to Javelin :
Definitely not alone. I can't say as I remember sequences of events in dream like you do, and especially to the level of being aware of it enough to remember and "predict" the next thing to happen, but all the same seeing people and places before meeting them is really something I can't explain. When the moments occur I feel such at peace with everything.
Some of the dreams are really troubling at the time. Like seeing myself in a different place in life and really awoke stressed out about it. Then when the moments occur it makes perfect sense.
As a God believing person it really makes for lots of interesting questions about free agency and free will. What I know is while I find peace in this type of thing, I sure don't think I would want to be able to see more.
In reply to ronholm :
“Seeing”, I imagine very quickly, becomes a curse rather than a blessing or an odd curiosity.
I’ve been witness to enough inexplicable things in this life to have my eyes permanently fixed wide open
