10k in a year? I'm jealous. I do roughly 30k.
I looked hard at the accord. Good appliance.
I've driven the current generation Accord a ton of times. If I could ever be OK with spending $20k on a car that would be driven 30k+ miles a year, there would be a '13 or '14 V6 6spd coupe in my driveway right now. I LOVE it...fast, nice luxury stuff, good handling and mpg, Accord reliability, big enough to carry everyone.
The new Accords are nice and look great IMO. HMA even races them in PWC. I've considered getting one but just don't have a need for it in my life right now. Maybe it can replace my 94 Accord chump car in 10 years.
acceleration is fine but not impressive.
Normal cars are powerful enough to dull our appreciation by the year. The 4cyl/manual accord is about exactly as quick as the last 4cyl/manual Prelude.
Have you gotten rid of the suburban yet? Because the abs fix is free. Remove the front wheel speed sensors and grind the rust off the spindle where the sensors sit. Reinstall and problem solved. Might gain you some money on the sale.
One thing I absolutely hate about the way Honda does things, and was a bit of a deal breaker for me when I've been shopping recently, is the options packages. I know most car companies do it this way now, but some of it is ridiculous. Finally, Honda has made Bluetooth standard in all levels of Accord, but not long ago it wasn't. To get satellite radio, you have to step all the way up to the top trim EX-L model. You can't get it in Sport trim. That's flat stupid. The most basic Kia Rio has satellite radio. For me, driving as much as I do, I like satellite. Yes, I know Pandora, etc..., but I very much liking having a bunch of preset stations I can tune to using my steering wheel buttons. I also know I can get an aftermarket satellite radio, but I hate that look of having another device mounted in the car. C'mon Honda, really? I think Mazda does something similar.
