A couple of weeks ago I lost oil pressure in a drastic fashion accompanied with a loud banging and rattling and copious amounts of smoke. As I was a mile away from home I pressed on. I was certain that the engine was toast. So I have procured another 2.4 dual overhead cam out of a 99 Stratus. I started the car put it on the tow dolly ,took it off the tow dolly, moved it around my friend's lot and eventually put it inside the converted chicken coop that is the garage. Taking it apart today I discovered this hole behind the starter on the number four cylinder. This is one tough engine
There is a corresponding hole in the aluminum oil pan

Just so that you know, that won't buff out.

I was hoping a little JB weld and some really snazzy looking paint would make it all better
I have been prepping the replacement engine for a few days
it's a baseball sized hole

Any plans for boost? After driving Dusterdb13's Neon I always thought one with a 2.4 turbo would be way fun.

Not directly I kind of want to drive this on Monday but someday I think I might if I still have a good cylinder head I'm going to perhaps piece together another top end that might include a turbo it's a hoot with just the two four and the quaife differential really helps out
I want to have it ready before the snow drift rally so I can take a couple friends out the week before and prerun some of the stages

I hope you're not working unsupervised. Is cdowd looking over your shoulder?
No Chris is down in the subtropical area running a Hobie cat. I have it in my friend Dave's old chicken coop. Dave bought your wheels
The barrels in the left foreground are the wood stove it is really nice and warm in here

QFT.
I hadn't put the 2.4 in my Neon yet - I was still running just the 2.0 DOHC with an SRT4 turbofold on it - and I borrowed eastsideTim's NA 2.4-swapped Neon at a rallycross. Now, his car had good grunt and ran really well, but in the middle of the course there was a bit of a straight section and about half-way through it I shouted that I thought I had broken his car because I had no power. Yeah, there wasn't a damn thing wrong with his car, it just needed moar turbo!

This is the same car I love it I imagine a turbo would make it all that much more

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I was pretty wiped out after a U-Pull run to Sterling Heights.

I was wondering. That was a pretty ambitious day plan for someone your age.
My mild cam, moderate compression, ported 2.4 acr was a hoot. It really needed limited slip.
Now that i have had a turbo car, however, i know what i was missing.....
Also, the guy that did midlana made a windage tray blueprint that worked freaking AWESOME.

With the right preparation... :)
