I've been using a really nice aluminum, low profile, 2 ton jack that I bought from Sears about 12 years ago and it needs replacement. It's been twisted, dropped, jacked etc.
I've been looking around but the price on these seems to have gone up quite a bit from when I bought it. They all look pretty much the same to me. The heaviest car I need to lift is ~4,100 lbs (tire rotation on the daily) but typically use it on a Miata and RX7.
Also, needs to be light enough to pack into the truck or car for a weekend at the track.
Recommendations please?
Thanks.

I bought this last year, after 15 years of Sears jack that finally died. I posted on this forum, and people sent a bunch of recommendations. HF Pittsburgh is what I went with, per the recommendation. I was intially hesitant, but after a year of use, its been excellent. It does all my lowered cars, my Tacoma and SUV, no problems. It is a bit bulky for HPDE use that I had to, but it got the job done. Been very happy with it.

I have been extremely happy with the high rise low profile jack from Harbor Freight. Mine is 8-9 years old and has been flawless.
Basically this one but grey/greenish color.

Same story here. I'd had my Craftsman jack since high school and it finally took a dump. The HF jack (same one in the photo above) has performed flawlessly for the past couple of years.

Wow. Wasn't expecting so much positive feedback on the jacks available at HF.
This one fits my needs pretty well.

The steel ones are too heavy for my back transporting and lifting around over a weekend at the track.
I'm guessing rebuilding the cylinder on the current jack isn't an option? Or just don't want to mess with it?

Don't want to mess with it. The jack has been twisted a few too many times on my slightly sloped driveway. Plus the ears that stop the handle from going forward and hitting the car snapped off so I'm always at risk of damaging the cars.
