With the f2t, the top Half of the inlet Mani unbolts. Making a plenum is probably less work than the flip.

Otherwise I've got a tbi manifold that will fit the standard b2000 and b2200 8v heads if that helps?

Another thing with the f2t to consider is that the turbo faces the wrong way for rwd so makes plumbing a bit of pain.

The standard Fe and f2 are both fairly boost friendly in terms of compression, about 8.6:1. Sure they only have 8 valves, but the exhaust valve in the 8v heads is larger than the 12v heads. The single inlet vs twin inlet Valve is only about 10% smaller im terms of surface area.

1G boxy Dakota, 2.4 engine, Jeep Wrangler bellhousing, Solstice MA5 5 speed. You should be able to JY mix and match an intake and buy a turbo header that will help with turbo placement.

7MGTE Mk3 Supra Turbo. Buy a running car, then immediately do the timing belt and water pump, as well as throw on a new head gasket and install ARP head studs with everything torqued down to the correct spec of 75 ft-lbs (as opposed to the improper factory spec of 56 ft-lbs). Enjoy a cheap, reliable, smooth turbo car for years to come.

Around 300/300 is doable and safe with a good tune. The KA is a little more fragile under boost than the JDM swap motors that came turbo, but they can do well with appropriate parts. I think a lot that blow up are broke kids throwing the bare minimum at the car. I dynoed 350 whp with a stock KA that did road trips and track days.

I think a smart way to go is with SR20 style parts. If you run a manifold that positions the turbo same as on stock SR20, you can use off the shelf exhaust and intercooler plumbing. A stock T28 turbo from an S14 or S15 Silvia will do 280-300 whp with quick spool, or you can pick up a used Garrett GT2871,etc. You just want to avoid cheap shiny eBay manifolds that crack. This manifold would be great: Expreme!

Ecotec swap . Cheap and plentiful, unique as they aren't a lot of RWD swapped ecotecs out there. Plenty of power potential, look at what GM did with them drag racing back in the NOPI days.

4G63 are very easy to RWD swap now. Easy 300-400 HP on a stock long block, cheap to build up if you want, plentiful parts, basically the small block of the import world. A lot easier to find parts for than a SR20DET, as they sold a boat load of DSMs here (talon eclipse laser). Engine management is easy and cheap too, DSMLink software allows you to run a stock ECU with a chip and avoid having to tune a stand alone system.

Lots of resources here:

A shop out of Toledo makes custom bell housings that bolt directly to 4G63s for a LOT of transmissions:

The 4G63 is an amazing motor, but sr20det parts aren't hard to get your paws on. There's little that's unique to the JDM engines and plenty of places to get it. That said, the SR appeals mostly as an easy swap into the 240SX with bolt on hop up parts that fit the engine and the chassis. You don't have to be a fab master to build a fast fun car.

Its certainly cheaper to find a full 4G63 longblock or engine I would say, unless SR20 prices are past the drift tax by now?

Yes, I'm sure 4G63 is cheaper. The 240SX is just a nice chassis with a ton of parts availability if you want a relatively light RWD car. The SR20 is an easy swap.

A rwd 4g setup will cost you what sr20 are going for. It not more.

4g63 swap in anything. Using that motor + a trans that can actually handle power, must be a magnificent feeling.

400hp on a stock block is nothing for one.

One day I'll have something RWD + 4g63. For now, I'll stick with my 4 AWD 4g63s

Honestly, If you're trying to swap something, I'd go Turbo LS, or just find something LS powered already.

You'll need an r154 or t56 for a 4g. You can buy a sr20 with everything for the cost of going with a r154/t56+clutch+adapter.

Bill Hincher makes the kits though.

If it were me id get a mustang of sorts, hell they come in all shapes and sizes just pick one that suits your fancy and depending on the situation build or buy a turbo kit to make that mustang quick. For 5-6k max budget I think thats the highest smiles per dollar ratio yet still have cheap parts and not suck totally while not in boost

What about the cheapest g-body you can get, then put a turbocharged 3800 in it. Sort of like a trailer park special Grand National.
