Don't have a picture, but it was on an obviously high-end luxury sports sedan. The badge looked a lot like a "T" with the top curved down slightly on each side, and no, it wasn't any Toyota. Never seen one before.
Dang... was a Tesla. Saw two within about 20 minutes and never since. Good looking car... I'm just not sold on the whole electric thing, but it was very sharp.

Why?
I know the current electric cars won't meet the needs of everyone, but they could potentially serve many peoples needs quite well. Yes, we're along way from taking electric cars on epic road trips, but for the daily grind (especially for families that have more than one car), they could serve quite well.

Actually, 6 Teslas made the drive from Portland, Oregon to DC to do the DC to Boston run that the NYT writer failed miserably at. It didn't take them any longer to drive across than it took me in my SVT Contour when I drove from Seattle to Baltimore back in '99.
A little planning and it's quite possible to take epic road trips, at least in Teslas.
Now, try that in a Leaf and you might have a problem. Which is why I'm driving aVlt, so i can go a bit farther in a day on occasion.

Definitely. I use my Volt to commute with and run errands with and even it's meager 40 mile range is more than enough to take care of the day to day use. A typcial EV with 75-100 mile range would make it all week for me if I only used a car for commuting and running errands.
I'm kind of surprised the hybrid/electric thing hasn't hit the minivan crowd yet. Or maybe it has and I haven't noticed. Seems like a more logical fit, shuttling kids to soccer practice and all that.
What's with all the Tesla sightings lately? I mean really, two in Burlington Vermont in one week?

Seriously whats with you guys not seeing them every day. I see at least four "S" on the way to work each morning.
They are popping out of the woodwork here.
I haven't seen an S on the street yet, but I see roadsters often enough that they're not a big deal anymore. I've also been seeing a Fiskar Karma about. I'll have to take note of the color next time, to see if its multiple sightings of the same one, I'm pretty sure it's not.
I'm with Weary, I see so many model S they just aren't special here in the SF bay area. A karma on the other hand is something special looking don't know much about it other than that
What I'm looking at is electric motorcycles, damn I'd like not to have to buy gas. Seriously most people don't drive over 50miles a day so either an electric car or bike could easily fit the bill.

We won't see teslas with that frequency in semi-rural FL until the time that they are reaching marketplace saturation in California, New York and the DC beltway. Culturally, we're a bit like the flyover states....we pick up on trends much later that you guys.(Orlando's a different world.....I'm sure the Teslas are already fairly common there.)
If you want to see teslas in Polk County right now, they need to take advantage of that full torque at zero RPM electric power and build a jacked up 4x4. Run them at the Redneck Yacht Club, or even locally at Bubba Mud Ranch, and there will be sales. Heck, build one for the Mile O' Mud in Naples
