I got a 2001 A4. For $1,400
If I can save the 1.8. I'm thinking it would be cool to cut it up!
So will I be allowed at The Challenge?

It would go well against the VR6 powered Yugo I want to build (mid engined) I have the drivetrain, trying to find a Yugo now...they all seem to have dissapeared in the northeast. I think when Dave Benton moved west they all followed him.
Ill keep that in mind. The truth is if I cant save the 1.8. I may have to put a 1.3 Yugo Eng in it The car is going to be towed home tomorrow. This weekend I will find out what it going to be, The Yugo trans in the weak link in my car. I can make more power. There is no point if the Eng is in the Yugo. Now If its in the Audi . I could test the power limit. Of old school Eng design.
Don't remember the name but there was a shop just of I70 in Wohlford Pa with 3 Yugos on his lot. Unfortunately my job chang ed & I don't get up there anymore.
Nice score! Jonny, 9 times out of 10 it's a timing belt. Even if it bent every valve it can possibly bend, you can get the valves at rockauto for $100 for all of them. They don't bend the center intake valve, so worst case scenario is 4 intake and 4 exhaust. So even if you change the timing belt, pulleys, water pump, head gasket, head bolts, and 16 valves, you're still at less than $300 for parts.

I hate you guys. I've fixed a few of these for super-cheap just to help people out, and how do I get repaid? By all the nice, cheap, broken cars showing up in other parts of the country, that's how! It's a 5 speed too!
