And I was wondering why there were so many S2000 seats for sale on Craigslist.

Personally? If I end up with an S2K I will immediately be installing Recaros and a roll bar, and turning the stockers into office chairs or selling them. It just seems like they are too much of a goddamn liability.

Thats actually not a bad idea...

Boxter S is an entertaining thought, but I would much rather wrench on a Honda I4 than the Porsche boxer engine.

Recaros are expensive. And a pain in the butt to install.

Also, ingress/egress in an S2000 with a fixed bucket Recaro will make you seriously reconsider daily driving one. Its a very difficult car to get in and out of.

In reply to ProDarwin:

You can pick up used Recaros for under $1000 a pair if you're a savvy shopper. Also, I can't speak for OP Desmond, but this Desmond would possibly install some used JDM reclining Recaros and the car would certainly not be a DD.

I can testify that getting in and out of the S2000 sucks though even with the stock seats. Friend of mine had one, never drove it but getting into the driver's seat was like putting on a latex glove. I'm 6'2" and 185lbs, so maybe it's easier for shorter people.

Yeah, mine was bad with stock seats. Once I put in a Recaro bucket it was just terrible.

I kinda regretted it, because its such a great car to get in and drive, but the extra hassle of ingress/egress meant it would often not get used for short trips because I was too lazy.

I'm 6'0 ~180. And I'm not some broken old guy either (although I may sound like one online :) ).

I love my 07 S2000. Not great for easy driving around town. Noisy, stiff ride, but driven hard on appropriate roads and you will be loving it too.

I would bet the one the OP listed is already sold. Great price.

OP said: I'm itching for an S2000...

There is an ointment for that I think.

Sorry nothing constructive to add to this.

Hey, it's not like they block GRM!

But yes, the S2K is a great car, probably only going to appreciate

You guys having trouble getting in and out of them - what's happening? I'm 6'1" 175lbs, and it's plenty easy to get in and out of. I even have a fixed-bucket Stätus racing seat on the driver's side
