Dumbest Daily Driver? In the mid-60s my DD, in fact my only car, was a MGTD. Doesn't sound that dumb until you hear the rest of the story.
At that time I lived in Orange County Ca. near the intersections of the San Diego Freeway and several others. Almost no surface street went more than a few blocks before you had to get onto one of the many freeways. And back then the freeways often ran at 80mph and up! I know that's hard to believe now but it was certainly true then.
I was basically trying to stay alive in a very small car with only one taillight/brake light and a practical average speed of 70 or less. I soon discovered a TD is almost invisible to other traffic on a heavily traveled 4 or 5 lane in each direction freeway.
Needless to say, I soon sold the TD and reinvested in something that would not just keep up with traffic but also be seen by the other traffic!
Dumbest daily driver? A 2011 Mustang 5.0. I drove it through exactly one snowstorm before deciding to get a beater.
I still want to take a mid eighties scca trans am or imsa race car and dialy it.
My 1966 Dodge Dart... in 1996. Acquired as a bit of a basket case, but once fixed up it proved to be surprisingly practical. The main problem is that it was pretty slow in stock trim and I have had a constant urge to modify it. Which most recently took it off the road for several years for a turbo build that's dragging on and on and on...

Aren't they just INSANE ! ? ! ? ! ? !
I have one now and have been looking for a cheap beater for two months. Looks like I'll get one for next Winter if I still own the Mustang.
These rides are one of the coolest in town until the snow falls, then they're the biggest death traps around.

The 1985 MR2 I'm driving right now, hands down. Well over 208k miles on the clock (speedo cable broke), no A/C, no radio, cargo space that's entirely occupied by a backpack and a bag of groceries (if I want to transport my bicycle it has to ride shotgun!), two seats, heated coilover springs & ebay sleeves that bounce and bottom out constantly (previous owner's doings), almost every electrical connector in the engine bay gives me fits because the PO damaged the clips when rebuilding the engine.
Despite all of this, it's a real joy to drive. The power and handling response is fantastic, it's decent in the snow, it looks like it's in much better shape than it is, it's not cramped for as small as it is and as tall as I am, and it gets a lot of attention for what's basically a beat up, backwards Corolla. I'd really like to freshen it up this summer once I graduate uni and get the T/A out of storage, but I may just dump it for a small pickup truck or a nicer example that isn't a death trap haha.
Still want to DD a slash8. . . maybe this time a 300D. Maybe they can get out of their own way.
Looks exactly like mine did.
Worst DD i've owned and i've owned: 92 Protege, 94 Taurus, 87 GTV6, 94 Talon, now 12 WRX. (forget the years of my earlier cars so i guessed)
Uncomfortable ride and useless hatch space because of that chassis brace. Also it was horribly unreliable for me but I get the impression that this is generally not the case. I didn't dislike it though, none of my cars I disliked but this was the worst DD. It was a terrible winter car but I moved to vegas halfway through ownership. The WRX I have now is better in almost every way.
I would have to say my worse was my 77 cherokee. Steering by suggestion only, swiss cheese had fewer holes, I think it burned gas even when parked (or just felt that way), and no woman in the world would want to get in it.
But, it was an awesome complement to my motorcycle and man I did love that thing. It was unstoppable if driven within reason.
Not the dumbest, but the two dailys I hated the most were the 1974 Mustang II 2300/4 speed and the 1992 Cherokee Sport. The Mustang wallowed, had no A/C, was slow but it made up for all that by being one of the most unreliable cars I've ever owned. The Cherokee had terrible build quality, the worst steering I have ever had the displeasure of allegedly 'controlling', mediocre brakes and not a lot of headroom. It was rock reliable, though; that's the only reason I kept it as long as I did.
