Has anyone been to the Badlands event? I liked their FB page and they are posting about the event.
Supposedly it's so big it's a Stage Rallycross? Thats crazy.
I'd be interested in spectating since I have nothing to drive.

I'm also interested. Quite possibly going to drive at their first event this year. Facebook looks good, but their website is no more it seems.
A friend and I ran the entire 2013 season with them and helped setup for the events. It was an AWESOME time and a lot of great experience.
We ended up 1-2 in our class for the season in this:
It was the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel of a car. If finances were different, I'd still be running with them.
I thought about it, 3ish hr drive. But I saw the jumps and was skeered the Subarust would break in half.
I've proposed the concept of stage rallycross for awhile, but have always been met with resistance due to moving of workers between heats/ mini stages, timing equipment and added time of drive throughs of each stage.
I may have to drag the Accent over there for an event this year. I love rally-x, but it's pretty rough on equipment - and there's no way I can do less than 100%.

Its two hours for me, AND its in stupid Eastern time, so that makes it one hour worse for me. I still think I'm going.
Wah, wah, 2-3 hrs..
That's how long it takes most of us to get to our "local" chapter site. It's worth it. That 4:45 alarm does suck, though.

2-4 hours is local for me too. Badlands is over six for me. I can't drive twelve hours in a day plus a full day of rallycross. Heck I have a hard time driving two hours home after a rallycross.
I'd still totally love to run there but it'd involve taking half of Friday off of work, driving there in the afternoon/evening, sleeping there, then driving home on Sunday, which negates one of the things I really like about rallycross, namely that I can condense its activity into one day.

SHHHH, don't say that out load, you may not get served ...
In reply to Knurled:
If anyone is considering spending the night, Attica is a small town. I know there's the Attica Hotel which caters to many of the ORV people who visit Badlands. It's not fancy, at all, but it was clean & the price wasn't bad.
Edit: Our band usually practices at our guitarist's house just outside Attica, so if one of the events happens to fall on a day we're practicing, y'all are welcome to stop by & say hi.
Well I would like to go spectate, so if anyone else is going just post in this thread. So far my calendar is open, but anything could change before then.
I'll be out there on my dirt bike this weekend...I'll have to check out the course. Unfortunately I don't really have a good vehicle for it, but I'm only about 2 hours away.
Just registered. I'll be rocking my silver SVT focus. If anyone else is there feel free to look me up.
Ok there is an event at badlands on Saturday again and it look like it will be the 2 mile big course weather permitting.
I would like to go and spectate, but I don't know if I can make it.
I can't make it this Saturday. One of my best buddies is graduating in Madison.
The first event was awesome though. There are some cool dudes running there. Speeds on the first straight got me into 3rd gear in my SVT focus, and many times on course I would hit or bounce the limiter in second before braking for a turn. That's like 70ish... In the dirt. With FWD open diff 170hp.
Can't imagine what some of these guys in the turbo 4wds were hitting.
You'll need to log in to post.
