I'm a huge F1 fan, but started watching IndyCar last year. This year has had some amazing racing.

IMO IndyCar has been better for a number of years. It is harder to predict a winner when there are more than 2 teams with equal chances.
I've seen many cars race at Road America. It's amazing how fast they accelerate here. Of course, I've watched a lot of Rabbit cup racing in the 80's.

Back in the 80's? Vintage racers were the midday show for Indy cars. Then one year they got flooded out and came back the following weekend. On our Vintage weekend.
Very last minute and some of the bigger teams asked to share our pits because they were afraid of getting stuck in the lower paddock. Al Unser sr shared mine. Nice guy, Famous crew chief I was surprised at how basic some of the approaches were to mechanical issues.
Was at the race today, my first at Road America, loved it. Sat down by turn 5 and got to see about 15 overtakes. I'm a F1 fan primarly, but IndyCar sure does have some great racing. Been winning me over all season.

Did you get to go in the pits? Isn't that food the best racetrack food you've ever eaten?
Turn 5 was my favorite overtaking point. The guys who didn't have the best brake cooling system were so easy to beat. After a few hard laps when they came into turn 5 they'd have to start braking at the 3 marker or earlier. While if your brakes were up to it you could go down to the 1 marker. Then as they swung wide you'd dive inside them and be blocking them right as they start to get back on the power. Soft brakes they'd try to go outside and that's were you were.
While you're on the throttle they'd be back on their brakes. Even faster, more powerful cars didn't really have a way to pass until after the carousel. Trying it though got their brakes really cooking.
Which gave you Canada corner to come back around. Getting back past you was a set up for the last corner. If they took the bait and went to the outside they'd be off camber, dancing in the grass while I could be lined up for the uphill race to the Start finish line.
We're Veekay fans (because 16 y/o daughter) and he was out with an unrelated injury but I think Sato is a habitual cheat (fight me) so it's nice to see him finally getting blasted with blocking penalties like they're coming out of a fire hose.
231 on-track passes during that race. Last week in Detroit was a barn-burner, too. The Indycar series is the best racing you're not watching.
