I've resisted joining for quite some time on here, but finally bit the proverbial bullet today. My friend bluej told me I'm missing out, and that you all are basically me and I am basically you or something. Maybe it was the mushrooms talking, but it sounded good at the time.
Anyways, my name is Paul. I live in New Hampshire. I like fast things. Cars, trucks, snowmobiles, bicycles, women. Anything fast. When asking what I could possibly bring to the table of another car forum, my friend just told me to tell you a story-
My wife bought me a 1985 944 for my birthday a few years ago. I drove it 2.3 miles before the clutch blew up. I then drank heavily later that night and decided to put an LSx in it, without having a garage, in the middle of winter. I woke up the next morning having won an ebay auction for an LS6 and a bonus price of a massive headache.
With the help of some friends, my father, and a warm december, bluej and I got it fitted and fired up at about 1am on Christmas eve by hotwiring the fuel pump and using a string of extra christmas lights because I couldn't find my flashlights (beer was, again, involved. You'll begin to notice a theme). Open headers never sounded so good.
Fast forward to a couple of Dragon runs, some teething, a kid, and more time than I could dedicate, I sold it to a gentleman in Ohio who has truly turned the car into a badass track queen.
So that's it. I love DE's, autox, time trials, hill climbs, and anything else involving motors. I'm not any good at any of them, but dang to I like to pretend. My current car is a bit of a story, but not nearly as interesting. Basically, I bought a 97 M3 from a loanmax parking lot from a drug dealer, and while driving out of the parking lot, my manly flannel shirt turned into a pink polo and the collar popped by itself. Not sure exactly how it happened, but the important part is that it did.
So, I hope I can help with anything, and learn a lot more from you guys on here. Thanks for reading.
