I have 2 first gens and fit well in a second gen, but when I tried out the gen 3, there was no way that I could fit with either the hard or soft top in place. I am 6'2" / 275, 32 inseam. Other than the head room the gen 3 seemed roomier, but I thought that it might rain once in a while here in Cleveland!

Resurected from the dead.

I thought I had found one here locally, turns out it was an Automatic (I didn't knwo they even made miatas with Autos, huh.) I got in it and was all like, hey, where is the third pedal? and stuff.

So I am on the look out for one, not in a huge hurry, but the gov'ment was good to me on taxes this year so I have some money to drink the cool aid.

just get one. end of story. I just snagged a 94 M edition for a grand, and as long as I don't look at the rust, its a great car. the only that I liked better about that fiero then my miatas was the sound of that motor with the free flowing exhaust. but since the I sold you that 88gt I have owned 3 miatas and no fieros........

I find it funny when you come across the seemingly perfect, low-mileage Miata and it turns out to be an automatic. Then the dude selling it says, "this is the rare automatic option." It's not rare, it's UNPOPULAR! Big difference.

Apparently the swap isn't difficult, or expensive, but manual gearboxed ones are so plentiful and cheap it really isn't worth the extra work.

Does asparagus make your pee stink?

Go for it. At least try some on and see what you think... but I suspect that once you do a foamectomy and get lower in the seat all will be well.

They sure are fun.

You aren't going to find a nice Miata in Champaign. You are going to have to look somewhere else, like Chicago, St. Louis, or Indianapolis. I have tried finding a good Miata locally, and I couldn't. The nice thing is that you are more or less equidistant from all three cities, and there is some nice selection there.

Have you been to CCSCC autocross events in Rantoul? There are plenty of us Miata guys there who can let you take a look at Miatas, sit in them, get rides, maybe even let you test drive them. If you show up to an event and I'm there, I'd have no problem letting you slip behind the wheel of mine and take it out for a fun run.

Yes.

P.S. I didn't read the thread but it doesn't matter. Miata = good choice
