Funny, I saw two of those today on my drive in to work. Both black, lowered just a hair, wheels and lip spoilers at both ends. Looked really good. Definitely makes me think of my e30. Is it bad the first thing I wondered was about v8 swapping it?

There are a few S65 swapped which sounds fun. It's really a perfect size which is why they don't make it any longer I suppose. Since I've been looking at them I see them everywhere.
This thread has me considering this guy: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/san-francisco-bmw-128i-manual-sport/7361499598.html
I told myself no more BMWs for a while, but...

Holy crap, that's a lot of money. I don't know if he'll get it, but it's a low mileage, last year of production car with a desirable spec, so he might. It's also almost an exact clone of mine, albeit four years newer and with half the mileage. If you buy it you'll have one of the nicest 128is in the country, I suspect.

Jeebus, for $17k I'll deliver my 77k 2010 328i to your new location and fly home.

That looks to be an extremely well-optioned example of an E90 but I am hell-bent on getting a car that has never seen a winter for the first time in my life.
I don't speak much BMW but were the 1 series one of the last good ones before BMW seemed to become German Buicks?
I love it, just the right size and fairly quick and rewarding to drive. It has developed a oil leak which may have been there when I bought it but has gotten worse. There is also a noise from the left rear that sounds like the spring isn't riding in the perch correctly or whatever bushing holds it all is worn out. 154,000 on it now so I guess that wouldn't be surprising.
With mine totaled I have some maint parts sitting here I can send to someone who will use it
first is cab and air filter, oil filter, filter housing gasket (uro brand) and a valve cover set (mahle brand) all for a 2010 128i.
next is the BMW monster mats, someone will love these
