So I'm in the "library" at home last night reading the latest issue of GRM. The great Rally articles got me all reminiscent of SCCA Production Rally ten years ago. I have an appropriate sh*!box car (Mitsu Mirage Coupe) that would be great fun. Unfortunately I live in Southern California and the SCCA website doesn't list any RallyCross events.

I know California is the crusher of all fun activities....Do we have any RallyCross down here?

I've seen them run Rallycross at Thunderhill - which is a might long ways away from you. I'd love to see them run events at Carnegie motorcycle park, but I think they're strictly 2-wheel.

Yup, there are about 3 events per year in NorCal. I'm not sure about SoCal though.

I'd maybe check Nevada regions. There might be something in the high desert area. I really don't know. Just taking my best guess.

I really wish there was more. Then I'd have a reason to buy a $500 FWD beater.

I agree! I have a FWD beater that I picked up for free. It needed a slave cylinder to get rolling and a head gasket to cure a nasty oil leak.

join your region if you havn't already...try to get on the board of directors, and then contact our region, and we can give you some insight on how to rtart and run a proper rallycross program starting from scratch. We usually have 35ish cars and we always make money.

Try californiarallyseries.com they have events every few months or so. But it seems this year a few events are cancelled. It was good and casual and cheap when i was dong it.

Great link! Maybe more events will come up later in the year. The turn out looks good with most of the cars being Subarus and Evos.

From the previous event results the FWD stock class is dominated by rental cars!

I've heard rental cars are always the fastest cars.
