Please don't make it an ice racer. It's so clean.. there are plenty of other jalopies out there to abuse in bad conditions. This car deserves to be fixed up, painted, and driven. I am very jealous.

You sir Win. I would have gobbled that up in a second. The one thing I regret about making my Civic a dedicated track car is getting to drive it more often. I would DD a CRX til the cows come home.

I really haven't even had a chance to take a long look at the car yet. The seller drove it to my house, I brought him home and then went about the business of my day.
I did spend this morning sorting through the huge stack of receipts he had for the car, going all the way back to 1988. He kept everything, right down to receipts for light bulbs and little notes to himself regarding things like tire pressure and cleaning out the sunroof drains. It appears that he was a very good service customer over the car's 180k miles.
Among the nice surprises were a new radiator three weeks ago, recent brakes and a clutch that has fewer than 25k miles on it. I changed the original clutch in my '89 Civic Si after 212k, and that car was autocrossed for several years.
Sounds like a well cared for car.

Half the fun is in playing the game, isn't it? I'll echo the previous post: I wouldn't be able to get the cash out fast enough. I'd throw him a stack of hundreds, snatch the keys, and come back for the other car. I was totally prepared to pay $3k for a slightly nicer one earlier this week, and it was gone by the time I sent the email.
More fun facts:
Alternator and timing belt have less than 25k miles on them.

My mom had an HF. Offered to give it to me when she let it go, but I had just gotten divorced and didn't think I could afford to swap out the automatic for a 5-speed. I'm still kicking myself. I'm with you..no SI, but "slow cars fast", right? 
EDIT: Aside to Woody (re: alternator & stuff)-yeah, just keep pouring alcohol on my wound, OK?

Maybe it was a DX. I just assumed it was an HF because she told me it had the 1300 in it. Could you get the 1300 in the DX?

No, 2nd gen. '90 or '91.
I think the early CRX HF was a 1300 but stick only. I'm pretty sure the 2nd gen HF was 1500, but also stick only.
